25.01.2022 74 riders raced in Sunday's Cross-Country round in Stromlo West. The weather was perfect for a much anticipated club race after two rounds of postponements due to rain. Bec & Dan McConnell used the race to see where their form is before they head to Europe for the XCO World Cup and World Championships in September and October. The club also had a big group of junior riders racing on Sunday which was great to see. We also had some newcomers to the race scene and hope they will... come back to our next club event. 24.01.2022 Dirt crits cancelled this week Given the rain we have had over the last week, the condition of the tracks yesterday and the further rain overnight and today, we are cancelling this round of dirt crits to save the tracks. Although the rain is predicted to stop by this afternoon, the tracks at Stromlo need time to dry. 19.01.2022 Dirt crits will be back! We have been working hard to get Dirt Crits up and running for the 2020-2021 season. These are short (around 15 min races) held Thu eve at Stromlo. Everyone welcome - you must have MTBA membership to cover insurance. We will also continue to offer kids version, although this year we will not have a G-grade as this had very little uptake last year. Any changes? Suggestions? please contact us or add to the comments section. Due to current restrictions we will have to do online entries for all categories - details coming soon. We will offer the first 5 races free to everyone from last year who paid for a season pass. We also hope to handicap D/C grade, similar to A/B grade, to minimise crowds at the start.

19.01.2022 Congratulations to Bec McConnell who rode to a fantastic bronze medal on Saturday's XCO World Championships in Leogang, Austria. Bec rode strong in the steep and muddy course and contested the silver medal all the way to the finish line only to be beaten by Italy's Eva Lechner by the smallest of margins. Pauline Ferrand Prevot from France rode to victory and the rainbow stripes. Dan McConnell rode well and got a 16th place in Elite Men. 19.01.2022 Whilst the Terra has taken a COVID holiday this year, the great news is the AMB is still on THIS WEEKEND!!! Places are limited but there's a few left and there's a range of distances from 1 lap to 3 so something to suit everyone. 15.01.2022 The importance of this report for MTB in the ACT can't be overstated. A huge thanks to those who contributed to its content (especially those CORC related) as we believe it's absolutely first class. What is really needed now is the FULL MTB community's public support as only implemented plans actually make a difference. It will take time and resources to bring it to life, but the opportunity to take full advantage of the unique natural infrastructure we have to create a world-class active leisure corridor from the heart of the city, right through the developing west will be the envy of communities around the world. So please add your support, even if it's a simple "hell yes!"

09.01.2022 Cross is back! We have another Cyclocross race coming up at Stromlo on Sunday 2 August. Entries are now open at https://entryboss.cc/races/5217 For this race, due to the COVID-19 situation, we have decided to restrict this race to local racers only (ACT + Queanbeyan area). Entries are capped at 90 riders. Other COVID restrictions will also apply, further details are on the entry page. ... All racers need to register online. For kids please enter them in Junior and let us know at rego if they will race the kids category. The course will be in the same area as last time, but running in the opposite direction. Unfortunately we won't be able to use the mulchy hills this time, so please don't train on them. But in much better news we will get some dedicated CX tech features in this area for next season! 08.01.2022 To all riders: Over the next couple of Thursdays Dirt crits will be trying some short sections of track that will be used in the Tier 1 CORC XCO race in mid February. This week will be loops of the 4X track; next week will be Blackberry-Luge loop. Come along and have a practice of these loops! 06.01.2022 CORC XC #3 Postponed! Due to the heavy rain Sunday's XC Race in Stromlo West is yet again postponed by 1 week. We are not giving up having the race, but this weekend it's too wet. 04.01.2022 XC Race Postponed! After a course inspection last night we have decided to postpone this Sunday's XC Race by a week (pending confirmation from Stromlo). It is still very wet in places, and with more rain forecast for today and tomorrow it doesn't look likely to improve enough. Those that have entered remains on the start list, but you can scratch yourself if the new date doesn't suit.

02.01.2022 It was a cracker of a CORC Club Race this morning in West Kowen. Fog and muddy trails made for some exciting racing in all categories. We also had the strongest line up in Elite Men in quite some time with 18 fast competitors, including Bec & Dan McConnell. Bec chose to race in Elite Men and came in an impressive 10th place. Husband Dan was also on fire and won the category 2 1/2 minutes ahead of Reece Tucknott with Toby Stewart in third place. In Elite Women Ella Bloor rode ...strong and took the win ahead of Georgina Von Marbug. Many riders impressed in the tight and twisty tracks, but today Jesse Dunlop showed fantastic form and won Under 17 Men with some strong and consitent lap times. Unfortunatley we didn't have too many women competing, but those who showed up all did an amazing race. Hopefully you have inspired more feamle riders to come along for our next club race. Thank you to our volunteers for lending a hand before, during and after the race and to David Blucher for some great action shots.
