We have an all ladies cast this time right down to the Accompanist so a line up of fine frocks. Lots of variety in the repertoire - opera, operetta and music theatre. 07.01.2022 Last chance to see Amahl and The Night Visitors 2.00pm on Sunday 15th December at Scrub Hill Church, Newlyn. We welcome our second boy soprano Ryan in the role of Amahl. The rest of the cast is the same as at the Cathedral - David Campbell (King Kaspar) Nick Xiao (King Melchior) Alex Owens (King Balthazar) with Myfanwy Coghill singing the role of the Mother. The performance is staged and in costume. Singers from the Ballarat Choral Society will again sing the roles of the she...pherds and villagers. Elena Polevaya will accompany the singers and Hugh McKelvey will conduct. We hope to see you there - stay and have a drink with the cast after the performance which will run for about an hour. Upcoming presentations include an afternoon of delightful music featuring soloists and ensembles in Lancefield, 21st September, 2.00pm Castlemaine: Trial by Jury, 2.00pm Bunyip: Another presentation of beautiful music featuring soloists and ensembles. 2.00pm... Fridge Festival Ballarat: Pipers on the Lake - featuring some of Melbourne’s finest emerging opera singers - Friday 29th November. End of November/beginning December: 3 regional performances and one Ballarat performance of Amahl and The Night Visitors in collaboration with one of Ballarat’s finest choirs. A delightful Opera by Gian Carlo Menotti featuring soloists including a boy soprano and choir. See more
