20.01.2022 We all have blocks....seen or unseen... We all have that 'something' that prevents us from moving forward. Fear of failure...what if we try and it doesn't work.... Non belief....we don't really think it will work Too hard....don't really want to put in the effort required Not enough time....were too busy doing other things... These are all overcomable! We can do whatever we set out to achieve....it's just a mind over matter thing and believing it will work. Believing in yourself and the people you surrounds yourself with is a huge part of that. Surround yourself with people who believe in you and support you and you will go far. That's why we are so blessed in our studio with our community. They support and encourage and help you on your way...just by being part of it. Your own personal cheer team that helps you. So thank you to all our great staff and clients..you're awesome! 19.01.2022 #reset I always see the holidays or occasions like New Year/ Easter as good 'reset' buttons. They make me think back to previous years and remember how things were or what I was doing and I can contemplate whether I am in a better place or not now - or whether I really should DO something about it.... On the other hand - I am absolutely crap at keeping any new year resolutions - so the will is there, but the back up and consistency to follow through can fall by the wayside... and am sure many of us are in the same situation! I do see New Years resolutions as a 'chore' - maybe something that we all buy into as a natural line in the sand and we can start over. A time to commit and make a new habit - whether it be to eat more healthy, practise more self care, spend time with family, lose weight, do more exercise... whatever floats our boat. I know I look and think so i want to be doing this or feeling this next year? If not - what can I do to change. Thing is - if its a 'chore' or an imposed 'commitment' we are not fully invested and may resent it...and then just in that take on it - we are setting ourselves up to fail. I was listening to a podcast the other day - and I cant remember her name, but her take on it actually resonated with me. She said - think of your task or aim or goal - and instead of thinking about committing to it... give yourself permission to not do it. Say its ok if you actually don't want this. You can just let things be, leave things as they are right now and carry on as before. And that's OK. Take no action. Let it go. It's YOUR CHOICE. Now if the current status quo is not what you want you can now CHOOSE to take action. Just semantics, just words, but the whole energy and feel of them is different. So what can you 'let go of' because you actually really don't want to do it - you just think you should. And what do you actually choose you want to do? Whatever it is - you don't have to start big. Just one tiny step everyday to move you forward and towards that goal is all it takes. And then another and another. 19.01.2022 ? Many of our clients are hitting their goals - mainly because they are taking the right action.... They have an issue or goal they want to reach or achieve and they are talking the right action to keep them moving forward to achieving that goal.... . If you want something to happen or to effect a change - your actions have to be congruent with that. So if you want more flexibility - stretching twice a week wont get you there. - stretching needs to be a daily activity in order to effect an improvement - stretching twice a week just keeps you where you are... want to lose weight and be fitter and more toned - you need to be doing something 3-4 times a week that stresses you cardiovascularly so makes your heart rate increase and breaks you out on a sweat - with toning coming from that and also working against some sort of resistance to increase your muscle strength want a stronger core? - need to be doing something that builds on correct CORE ACTIVATION - and doesn't just cause you to brace and use your bigger stronger muscles - at the expense of a core that will just get weaker. want to get rid of pain and move more freely - you've gotta know WHAT is CAUSING your pain and address that before you can apply anything further - otherwise it will just keep coming back. all of the above is why it may not work - you need to find the right solution and plan to achieve exactly what you want... .... and when you have the right plan and solution - boy oh boy - the effects can be life changing! 18.01.2022 Everyday bodies are real bodies. I'm looking at this picture thinking I can remember when I could do that and look like that doing it - now - no way . I can sorta do that but it doesn't look as 'pretty any more! But that's ok - I'm not 20 anymore either! All bodies move and bend, we can all stretch and work - just differently.... and to different degrees... Moving 'differently' does not mean that you shouldn't move at all. As we age we get stiffer, where we could once reach our toes, maybe now we only reach our knees.... Where we once were at our fitness, trimmest, most toned and strong, maybe now we're just a little more cuddly, or squidgy, or a big saggier than we remember. But it's called living our life. We get caught up in various things that surround us, careers, kids, family, and lives have got just so damn busy we really don't have any downtime anymore.. And there's heaps if us in that boat. Don't let feeling down about how you look, embarrassed at how you move, worried about what others think STOP you from being the best you can be NOW. We'd like to think our studio is a safe place for you to come. no judgement, just a studio full of like minded people, who want to move and just get back to feeling good in their own skin. 16.01.2022 This video made me think about persistence v giving up. When the going gets tough the tenancy is to just give up. We may have a bit of a go but of it's getting hard we may choose the easier option... UNLESS....... There's real skin in the game....that's when we make an effort and don't let go...we keep on keeping on until we get done what needs getting done.... Thing is.. what is it that gives that 'skin in the game' ? What is it to you? Do you have and go the easy option...or are you a fighter no matter what? Do you need to go it alone or are you happy to ask for help when the going gets tough? We're here. Please ask!
16.01.2022 Not all services are the same! I can cook - throw things together, and it somehow turns out ok, but am not that great at baking! I can follow the recipe and instructions to the T but if I attempted this cake - I'd have the bottom picture for sure!... However - give me a body to mend and fix - and I am phenomenal! So what happens? We all follow the same basic guide as physio's - find the pain - find the issue, work out what needs to happen and make it happen - yet results vary. We get clients all the time who say - nope - I've tried physio, tried this tried that and it doesn't work.... Mending a body and getting results - is a lot like baking a cake - you need to do the right things at the right time, in the right order and in the right way and you will get the results you're after. Once you go down the path of missing a step, doing too much of one thing, or too little of another - then results won't be as good or things cannot come back together to give you the results you're after. You may even be better off just starting over! Get all the info by signing up - https://bit.ly/3oJAmjP There's no point in trying to manage a tennis elbow - unless you understand what it is and why you may have it - so that's the purpose of the week - getting a better understanding and info so you can seek help if you need to - or get going on some self help strategies ASAP so you stop it before it's a major issue.... Tennis elbow is simple - its a pretty straight forward issue - easy to test, but an absolute bugger to manage - why? because most people leave it far too late. Get on top of it quickly and you can achieve a really good outcome. Wait over a month - 6 weeks and you're gonna be struggling with many struggling for MONTHS to get it right. Why? - because we use it all the time so its really hard to 'relatively rest' it... so if we can educate you so you know the signs and what to look for and know to seek help - quickly - you can get great outcomes!

11.01.2022 This is my new favourite release ball! It's about 8cm diameter and about $8 in @kmartaus I use it myself to release my hips and glutes and I've lost count of how many clients have gone out and bough it from kmart!... There are other variants on the market if you look around - but to be perfectly honest - my personal choice would be this one! Affectionately called the death star in the studio - its certainly won its place! If you'd like some ideas on what you can use it for an dhow - then comment below and we'll see what we can do for you!
11.01.2022 Theraband or Resistance Bands are a great way to get some movement and exercise in using a small, light, portable piece of equipment that fits in your pocket! Great for travel, great if you're short on space and great if you want to carry something with you! It's just one style of class we cover in our mat classes - along with stick pilates, barre classes, stretch classes as well as standard mat classes!... all you do is bring your own mat - we can't share mats due to COVID regulations. Our next Fundamentals class - which is where you start when you're new to us is Sat 5th Dec at 8am - we'll go over the basic necessity knowledge of Pilates - such as how bretahing can help you move better and increase your core strength, ho wto progress your exercises and know when you're ready and you also get time on the reformer machines so you get to feel how they work and how they can localise and support your workout.
