04.01.2022 Very exciting to receive in the post this week the hard copies of SOLVE magazine, which Coretext produces for the University of Portsmouth in the UK. COVID-19 had delayed the print version, which allowed us to extend ourselves with a special multimedia digital edition in the interim, but there’s nothing like holding a high-quality must-read publication in your hands as well. UOP is an exciting research and teaching university that has attracted world-leading scientists to its... ranks who have placed it at the forefront of many fields of discovery. For example, you may have read about the plastics-eating enzyme discovered at the university, and which is the cover story in this edition. It is the sort of science that holds out hope for our ruined environments, especially the oceans. For the Coretext team it is wonderfully rewarding to have a role in this journey, sharing stories that motivate and encourage; that give hope for the future. SOLVE is carried as a magazine insert by The Guardian and The Times in the UK and plays an important role in re-engaging people with science relevant to their wellbeing.
