19.01.2022 Fire's near me app.

18.01.2022 On this day last year NSW recorded 17 concurrent Emergency Warnings. Communities in the Blue Mountains, Clarence Valley, Richmond Valley, Walcha, Armidale, Namb...ucca, Kempsey, Tenterfield, and the Mid Coast were all being impacted by fire. At 6pm 94 fires were burning across the state. While the losses on that day were significant they could have been far worse were it not for the extraordinary efforts of firefighters and community members. See more

13.01.2022 Today marks 40 years since five young lives were tragically lost battling a bush fire at Waterfall. It was 3rd November 1980 - just before 5am crews were aler...ted to a bush fire burning near McKell Avenue. Numerous brigades responded to the southern end of the Royal National Park, working to contain a large fire which was burning under mild conditions. The conditions on the day were cool, the temperature reached 19c, humidity was low and southerly winds prevailed. As the southerly winds increased in strength late afternoon, the fire transitioned from the forested area into heath, increasing the intensity and spread. The fire rapidly headed in a northerly direction towards the Uloola trail. It was on this trail where a fire tanker from Headquarters (Heathcote) Brigade was overrun by fire. It was at this location where five brave firefighters were lost - Steve Crunkhorn, 26, Gregory Rolfe, 24, Vernon Stedman, 21, William Cummings, 21 and David Marshall, 19. The fire was contained days later after burning 2,246 hectares of the Royal National Park. We remember these brave firefighters.

10.01.2022 With heatwave conditions and increased fire danger affecting much of NSW over the coming days, fire permits are suspended from midnight tonight. This suspension will remain in force until at least Tuesday, when conditions will be reviewed. Don't be the fire risk to your community.

08.01.2022 What a day didn't expect it, Both Corindi Truck's with help Sherwoods Truck's Sandy Beach and Mid North Coast Cat 6 spent the afternoon containing a fire at Toppers Drive a fire that probably should never have been but I can't say any more about that. There we are at a fire that shouldn't have been and our neighbours up the road in Clarence are struggling with a number of fire's it's very frustrating but you know that's what we do volunteer and I am very proud of our team of ...volunteers, we all returned home safe and sound and that Southerly has come through a little light rain here I can smell it better that smoke I can tell you so. Please don't light that fire on a day of very high fire danger or up in Clarence which was higher, you have to ask yourself how does a multitude of fire's start at the same time in one area just shake your head it's just crazy and dangerous. 07.01.2022 SOLAR PANEL FIRES | We are urging residents with solar panels to remain aware and vigilant after an influx in solar panel fires this year. This footage was obta...ined from a neighbour in Glenwood who called Triple Zero (000) after noticing a house nearby had solar panels alight. This was one of six solar panel fires that Fire and Rescue NSW attended in the past week alone. These statistics show solar panel fires are up 20 percent compared to last year and continuing to rise. Isolation switches appear to be causing almost half of solar panel fires, so it is vital to ensure solar panels are installed and regularly maintained by a professional and that systems comply with Australian Standards. Always do a licence check with NSW Fair Trading before any installation and wiring takes place. This can be found at https://www.fairtrading.nsw.gov.au//during-th/solar-panels. #MoreThanFire #ProtectTheIrreplaceable #PreparedForAnything
