21.01.2022 On this day 75 years ago, CFA began as the single firefighting authority for country Victoria. Throughout the years, many aspects of our organisation have chang...ed, from our vehicles and clothing to the roles our crews undertake within communities. But our mission has always remained the same: protecting lives and property.

19.01.2022 ANZAC Day 2020 will not look like the ANZAC Day that so many of us are used to participating in. There will be a Dawn Service, wreaths will be laid, the last po...st will be played, a minute of silence in memory of the fallen will be observed, but the service community and the public will be asked to stay at home. This does not mean that ANZAC Day is cancelled. It just means that ANZAC Day will be different. In 2020, on April 25, while you can't go to the Shrine of Remembrance or a local Dawn Service, the RSL is asking that instead you #STANDTO. As the Last Post is played during the ANZAC Day Dawn Service walk outside, stand in your yard, driveway, or on your balcony and observe a minute of silence in respect of our veterans. Make sure that you snap a quick picture and share it right here on our Facebook page using the hashtag #STANDTO. Together, let's amplify our commitment to the ANZAC spirit. Lest We Forget.

16.01.2022 CORINELLA CFA SANTA RUN 2020 We would like to inform you all that we won’t be running our usual Santa run this year Instead we will be doing something different!! We really didn’t want the kids to miss out this year so we really hope they will still enjoy this. The present run we normally do involves a lot of handling by many different people to make this event run , our plan is to still run a event with minimal handling to keep you and your family safe our members and to still be able to keep running a fire service Flyers will be posted soon And we thank you all for your understanding See more

14.01.2022 STAGE 3 for Regional Vic includes Bass Coast + Sth Gippsland Shires From 11:59pm on Wednesday, Regional Vic will return to Stage 3 Stay at Home.... That means there’ll again only be four reasons to be out: shopping for food and essential items care and caregiving. Daily exercise. Work and study if you can’t do it from home. Otherwise, you need to stay home. Businesses in regional Victoria will also return to Stage 3 restrictions. That means restaurants and cafes can only offer delivery and takeaway. Beauty and personal services will need to close. Entertainment and cultural venues will need to close. Community sport will need to stop. This will be really tough for these businesses and their workers and we’ll have more to say very shortly about extra support to help get you through. Face coverings will continue to be compulsory ensuring that if we do have to be out, it’s in the safest way possible. Regional schools will return to remote and flexible learning across all year levels and across the state. The only exception will be for our specialist schools. Onsite supervision will again be made available for students who need it, including children whose parents are permitted workers and vulnerable kids who can’t learn from home. These changes will be in place for at least the next six weeks. As always, we’ll keep reviewing and realigning the restrictions in line with the advice of our health experts and if we can change things earlier, we will. If you know anyone that needs a mask, support or even just a phone call - send me an email, message, or ring my office on 5672 4755 and I will reach out to them.

13.01.2022 On the 16th February 1983 within just 12 hours the Ash Wednesday bushfires caused widespread destruction across Victoria and South Australia where more than 180... fires were fanned by strong winds coupled with a sudden and violent wind change in the evening which rapidly changed the direction and size of the fire front. Tragically 75 lives were lost (47 in Victoria and 28 in South Australia) which included 17 brave volunteer firefighters (14 CFA and 3 SA Country Fire Service). Over 3,700 buildings were destroyed or damaged and 2,545 individuals and families lost their homes. The emergency saw the largest number of volunteers called to duty from across Australia at the same time with an estimated 130,000 firefighters, defence force personnel, relief workers and support crews. We especially remember the volunteer firefighters who made the ultimate sacrifice on that tragic day Nar Nar Goon RFB - CFA Osborne Lowen Narre Warren RFB - CFA Dorothy Balcombe Lloyd Donovan Murray Forsyth Neil Henry John Minett Darrell Wilkes Keith Busbridge Panton Hill RFB - CFA Maurice Atkinson Stuart Duff Neville Jeffery William Marsden Peter Singleton Wallacedale RFB - CFA Peter Clover Lucindale Brigade - SA CFS Andrew Lemke Summertown Brigade - SA CFS Peter Matthies Callendale Brigade - SA CFS Brian Nosworthy Rest In Peace your supreme sacrifice will never be forgotten

08.01.2022 FACE MASKS + FACE COVERINGS For our community in Stage 3 restrictions. From 11.59 pm on Wednesday 22 July... Everyone who is 12 years and older, will be required to wear a face mask or face covering when leaving the house for one of the four reasons. SCHOOLS: Students attending schools over age 12 MUST wear a mask. Teachers will not be required to wear a mask whilst teaching. Exemptions available for people with medical conditions. There are some exceptions where it is not practical - for example, when jogging but you should carry the face mask with you. You do not need to wear a face covering when you are in the car, with members of your household. Reusable cloth masks are recommended, but face coverings (scarves, bandanas, hankies or single use masks) can also be used. You can buy cloth masks or single use masks from retail outlets, including chemists and hardware stores. There are instructions on how to make your own. They are being made locally as well. Feel free to share them in the comments below. The Victorian Government has placed its first order of 1.3 million re-usable masks. These have been sourced from Nobody Denim, Styleprint, NMBQ, The Ark, and the Mask Project. Reusable cloth masks will be provided to vulnerable communities. Victoria Police will be able to issue on the spot fines of $200. The recommendation is being made because masks and face coverings are low cost and relatively easy. And they will help to stop us spreading the disease, if we have it but don't know it. _______________________________________________ Moving between Regional Vic and Melbourne/ Mitchell Shire. MUST wear a mask if you are from Regional Vic and coming into the restricted area. Must wear a mask if you’re from Melbourne/Mitchell Shire + going into Regional Vic. For Regional areas, please wear a mask if you are out and cannot maintain physical distancing. ______________________________________________ Make a Face Mask: Check out social enterprise The Social Studio video for instructions.
