25.01.2022 So often I feel like women cleanse out of punishment for what they see as a period of ‘mistreating’ their bodies. Their intention might be to rid themselves of a few kg or some build up toxins that accumulates when we’re not living in alignment with our true nature. These are obviously hugely beneficial reasons to detox. But what if we reframed the idea of cleansing and instead saw it as an opportunity to not only release old habits but build new ones that better serve our w...hole being? What if the process was actually a form of self nourishment, an opportunity to retreat and the ultimate act of self-love. When we spend less time worrying about what to eat and preparing food, we have more time to tend to our hearts and nervous system. Sure I could lose a kilo or 2, and I’ve definitely got some ama (toxins) hanging about my gut. But more than anything my body and heart just craves space. Some gentle loving attentionand space. Registration for ReYouvenate Spring Cleanse program closes October 7th. Link in bio

24.01.2022 How many of our food habits and behaviours are inherited and how many do we create ourselves? I’m fascinated by the psychology of eating and how deeply ingrained some of our behaviours have become. The way in which some of these patterns limit our ability to enjoy food and the ritual act of sharing a meal has a tremendous affect on our digestion.... What if our gut health issues had less to do with WHAT we’re eating and more to do with HOW? We’ll be exploring this idea in the ReYouvenate cleanse program beginning October 12th. Oh and I made a little youtube video about it too. Both links are in my bio.

23.01.2022 Weight gain. I know very few women (like maybe 2!) who don't fear gaining weight. And of course I'm one of them! Watching my body soften as I grew my daughter was one of the hardest and most liberating experiences I've had as a woman who has been simultaneously shamed and sexualised for well, being a woman! Sound familiar ladies? ... I've spent decades depriving myself, punishing myself, obsessing and controlling every mouthful of food I ate out of fear of gaining weight. Out of fear of taking up space. And although I was able to enjoy the pregnancy and what it changed in my body, old habits soon returned as I settled into motherhood. And I continue to witness and explore them 4 years later. I'm no expert on eating disorders but I have a lot to say about disordered eating because I see it everywhere I look. With friends, with family, with clients and of course within myself. When will food just be food again? When will we simply allow our bodies to fluctuate in weight as we age, with the seasons and with our own cycles? This topic is so beautifully complex and individual but something I'm passionate about sharing more on. (I'll save the Ayurvedic view point for another time.) I'd love to know more about your relationship to gaining weight.

23.01.2022 How do you set up an Ayurvedic kitchen? By making it a space you want to be in. I set up my kitchen as an altar to my heart’s desire to be loved, nurtured and sometimes healed through food.... I place small relics and keepsakes from the times in my life where I felt really nourished, both by others and by myself, all around my cooking space. - Herbs from France (in remembrance of my childhood spent with my French family.) -A sign which says kitchen in Italian. (I spent 2 wonderful years on the west coast of Italy before coming to Australia.) - An antique salt pot gifted by my best friend of 28 years on my wedding day. (Pretty sure I’m not meant to be ‘using’ it but I’m not one to save things for special occasions). -I also have a candle which I light before cooking every meal and I normally put on some music to match my mood. When we create a space we want to be in, cooking meals for ourselves becomes a pleasurable and memorable experience. So I’m curious. How do you set up your kitchen altar?

22.01.2022 Interoception- Or how you feel your own inner terrain is not, unfortunately, a skill many of us have been encouraged to develop. In fact most of us have been misguided to believe that the body is something we have to overcome or battle against. Look to the mind for answers and use reason, logic and of course your intellect above all else when making important life decisions."... That’s the story I was told anyway. But how can we trust the wisdom of the body if we feel like it’s failed us? What if the dis-ease we experience has become more than just a physical symptom but a label we identify with on a daily basis. Ayurveda is the art of Interoceptive awareness because it teaches us to identify, access, understand, and respond appropriately to the patterns of internal signals we experience. Inner vision is a learnt skill these days but it’s also intrinsic. A natural and essential part of being human. If you'd like guidance on developing this skill I've got space for one new client this October. DM me for more information.

21.01.2022 Wellness doesn’t mean we live stress free. Wellness is being able to move through fear, risk, adventure, grief, joy and love without getting stuck. You see it’s the 'stuckness' that’s the real problem. Not the cause of the stress, not even our reaction to itbut our inability to move fluidly between our physiological and emotional cycles.... Living with a 4 year old who can seamlessly flow from vengeful rage, to tearful meltdown, to unbridled laughter in a matter of moments, inspires me to check in with my own response to stress. Towards the end of last year I had accumulated a whole lot of stress in the body. Trying to juggle each uncompleted, unbroken cycle of tension was beginning to show up in my physiology. Digestion was sluggish, menstruation was painful and I hadn’t felt so exhausted since having a new born. So this year I’m working on coming unstuck. But releasing accumulated stress that’s presenting in the physical body takes compassion and a whole lot of devotion. It also doesn’t happen quickly. Anyway..this month I have two workshops dedicated to exploring this very topic. Link in bio to find out more.

21.01.2022 I have a confession to make...I don't always practice what I preach. Don't get me wrong, many of the Ayurvedic principles I share with you have become deeply ingrained and part of my life. But this year has thrown me off track...as it has for many.... My anxiety has reached a whole new level, my body has never been so depleted and my nervous system is completely burnt out. And so I've been spending the last couple of weeks truly tending to the needs of my heart andnervous system. Whilst following the protocol from my Free Ebook, Finding a Refugee Within ,realised how essential these tools are for many right now. I also experienced how lonely and isolating it can be as highly sensitive person in a Vata world (fast-moving, changeable, uncertain.) And so I decided to extend the ebook into a month long onlineimmersion where we candive a little deeper into the work of anchoring ourselves amidst uncertainty and change. As I'm still very much inslow mode for now I'm just taking expressions of interest but I'm hoping to be able to offer this program at the start of 2021. If this sounds like a course that might support you right now follow the link in my bio to sign up and receive more information soon.

19.01.2022 So much of what I share with women is around creating healthy routine or rituals that feel achievable and therefore repeatable. When ambition is celebrated culturally, even our self-care rituals can become too much. But when it comes to gentle and transformative practices, less is more.... I’m all about those small moments in a day. Those tiny but mighty minutes of pure presence and peace.

18.01.2022 The stress may have passed but the body remains reactive until the stress cycle is broken or completed. I can’t emphasise the importance of this fact enough. Being able to remove the cause of our stress may bring relief but it doesn’t take away the physiological affect it has had on our bodies.... And we can’t complete a stress cycle by simply stating that ‘everything is ok now.’ Completion doesn’t happen in the mind, it happens in the body. Movement, creative expression and a good old cry are just a few of the ways we can support our bodies through the biological affects of stress. Sign up to my 2 online workshops on the 16th & 30th of January to learn more..

18.01.2022 Most ancient perspectives agree that imbalances begin in the subtle body. Meaning that the physical symptoms you’re experiencing began in your emotional and spiritual realm. Internal conflict and unpleasant emotions will overtime degenerate the body and promote disease progression. So in other words, we can’t really be healthy if we’re not happy.... Stress, overwhelm and anxiety are on the rise globally but it’s not until it’s moved into the physical body that most of us stop and pay attention. Digestive issues, menstrual health complications, trouble conceiving and low immunity cannot be ‘healed’ through herbal supplements, cleanses and expensive retreats. Eventually the cause of stress or anxiety has to be addressed. I say addressed and not eliminated because sometimes what causes our inner world to spin is out of our control, and so instead we must find tools to affectively soothe our emotional body amidst the chaos. Want to learn more about self-regulation through the lens of Ayurveda. Check out Anchor- a month long online immersion beginning next year. Link in bio

15.01.2022 Something has to die. The things that prop up our identity need to fall away. Only then can we truly transform. Only then can we discover the woman beneath the masks, labels or hats we wear.... The medicine is in subtraction. What are you ready to release? 3 more days to sign up for the spring cleanse. 15.01.2022 You will not be hungry! I have to say those words to myself and to clients before every cleanse. The fear of being deprived of food, particularly amongst those who have never experienced insufficient nourishment or sustenance, runs far deeper than I’m prepared to talk about here. But never the less the fear is very real for many.... So real that for some people the idea of cleansing creates so much anxiety and dread that they refuse to even consider any kind of detox, even if their bodies and minds are crying out for one. If you’re one of those people who has struggled with juice cleanses, fasting or perhaps you’ve never gone a day without caffeine in your life. An Ayurvedic cleanse could be the perfect, gentle introduction to releasing bodily toxins and rejuvenating your body and your mind. Still unsure if it’s right for you? I made a FAQs YouTube video to put your mind at ease. Link in bio

15.01.2022 A little over two weeks until we cleanse. Who's joining me <3

07.01.2022 It happens every time. I start to get overwhelmed by life and one of the first things that goes by the wayside is food. I'll skip meals and replace them with mindless snacking. I'll tell myself I'm too busy to eat or cook. I'll eat all the wrong things, and by wrong I mean food that I know my body doesn't tolerate well. ... And all the while I'll be working out, HARD. Undernourished and depleted AF, I'll eventually collapse in a heap and declare I need help. For me that support is close by. My hubby's well aware of my weird food habits when I feel out of control and knows how to gently but firmly redirect my attention towards self-nourishment. How we relate to food and eating is a reflection of our own self-worth. But Food heals. Not only physically but emotionally and psycho-spritually too. It's my life's work, this exploration. The reclamation of food as not only medicine but pleasure. - March 2020, Elton John concert. Will we ever gather like this again

06.01.2022 This is not just a sandwich. This is liberation. This is reclamation.... Being able to not only tolerate but ENJOY this food has been a huge process on both the physical and emotional level. Seeking liberation from the stories we tell ourselves around food and eating is spiritual. It's also ancestral and pleasurable. It's about breaking and creating boundaries. And exploring how many of our food choices and habits have been influenced by our upbringing, culture, the media and if you’re a woman, the bikini industrial complex. (meaning the $$$ companies that profit by setting unachievable ideals for women.) This year I'm excited to be offering curated 'cleanses' for those who are seeking food liberation. I'll also be offering my biannual seasonal group cleanse but if you’re looking for a more individualised experience then Dm me to find out more.

05.01.2022 We evolved to survive. The stress hormone response is there for our survival. But every time it’s triggered our vital resources (prana, rasa and rakta) are allocated to our biceps and triceps to either fight or flight. What’s important to remember is that these vital resources don’t come out of nowhere. They are Reallocated from our digestive system and sexual organs, because when it comes to survival, digestion and procreation can wait.... But these tissues and organs can’t wait forever without being impacted. Check out my latest YouTube video to learn more about it.

05.01.2022 Around day 5 of a woman's cycle there can be surge of energy from within. You might experience a sense of renewal and clarity, a sudden urgency to 'get out there' and do all the things. But there's more wisdom to be gained by holding onto the threads of your inner self a little longer.... The frost of your sacred winter may have melted but you're still straddling two worlds. Inner-intimacy and outer exposure. Pace yourself as your re-emerge. Patience and presence will take you through the next phase of your cycle with more ease and grace. You can learn more about your menstrual cycle and womb wellness in my free ebook. Link in bio

04.01.2022 If we're continuously seeking out some magic state of balance we'll always be disappointed with our failed efforts. When we can accept the untameable fluctuations of our body and emotions we're better able to receive and respond to life moment by moment, breathe by breathe. So let's stop seeking out perfection and find acceptance.

04.01.2022 Have you ever noticed how some people seem to make these huge life changing decisions without seeming the slightest bit fearful of the unknown? Whereas othersget themselves so stuck in a rut that eventhe idea of change will send them into sheer panic. Whether it’s changing your diet, finally asking for the help you need from family, friends or aprofessional.... Leaving thatlong term job or relationship, or even just taking those first steps towards living a life that feels more in alignment with your values and your heart. Change starts with choice. But how we get there and how we stay on track with our goals is different for everyone. I made little video on motivation to change and the Ayurvedic doshas. Link in bio.

02.01.2022 Foreigner- of the forest The words foreign and forest both come from the same latin root ‘foras.’ Which means outside. In the Middle Ages a ‘forest’ was uncultivated woodland or ‘waste,’ outside of bounds. It was the wilderness, the unknown and not specifically defined by trees.... To be foreign, or of the forest, is to be on the outside. And this is certainly how I’ve felt so many times over the last 12 years I’ve been away from ‘home.’ Ironically it’s when I’m within the forest that I feel most at home. Grounding, earthing, putting roots down. These practices have all served me well but its through the act of communing with nature on a far deeper level that I’ve found true solace. To be seated in the self is to be in living in alignment with the great mother. Stunning art by @catrin_welzstein

01.01.2022 How are we creating an environment that suggests the body isn’t intelligent? Our bodies innate ability and capacity to heal seems to be buried beneath an over medicalised system these days. Are our bodies forgetting how to get pregnant and give birth without intervention?... Have we poisoned this land and our plants allies beyond intuitive recognition, therefore cutting us off from our greatest medicine and teacher? Has our disconnect become so great that we no longer trust or believe in the wisdom and knowledge we hold in our bones? Ancestral connection as an embodied path has taken me on a journey of deep remembrance. Re-weaving myth and mysticism into my daily life, communing with the land and aligning to the seasons of my body and the Earth. And of course this is Ayurveda too. Unearthing our true nature using gentle but transformative practices of self-care. Ayurveda (the science of life) is part of your ancestry. Let the journey or rememberance bring you home.
