24.01.2022 A message to all our valued clients: As part of precautionary measures to combat the spread of the COVID-19, the Lands Titles Office (LTO) has advised that the settlements room is closing from 5pm this afternoon. This change aligns with the Federal Government announcement on 18 March 2020 banning non-essential indoor gatherings of 100 or more people. As there is no guarantee of numbers in the settlements room, the LTO is putting the health and safety of the community, as well as their legal obligations, at the forefront. Following this announcement, Cornerstone Conveyancing will be performing all settlements online from Monday 23rd March 2020, resulting in business as usual.

22.01.2022 To ensure residents and visitors on Kangaroo Island are provided with drinking water, while the bushfire-damaged Middle River Water Treatment Plant is being rep...aired we have put in place the following interim measures: - Drinking water is now being pumped into the network which supplies Parndana, Brownlow, Emu Bay, Kohinoor Hill and small parts of Kingscote. SA Health has confirmed this water is safe to drink, be aware it does have poor taste, is discoloured and may stain clothes if used for washing. - Alternative drinking water will be available for collection at the Western KI Lions Park at the corner of Jubilee Avenue and Wheaton Street in Parndana, 7-9pm tonight and 8am-9pm tomorrow, with bottled water and a large bladder to fill water containers from on site. - Our Community Support team will also deliver bottled water to residents in the Parndana township tonight. - People across all parts of the Island must continue limiting mains water use to essential needs only, to help preserve storage levels in the network until further notice. - From 7am tomorrow until further notice, raw water for stock is available to access via a standpipe at the intersection of Playford Highway and Hog Bay Road in Kingscote. - Tankers will continue to transport water from Penneshaw into our Kingscote storage tank. - We are currently sourcing mobile filtration plants to bring to the Island, which will treat water from the Middle River Reservoir to go back into the network. The Middle River Water Treatment Plant is the only source of drinking water supply for people in Kingscote, Parndana and surrounding areas, with no connection to the separate Penneshaw water network. Our initial estimates are that repairs to the Middle River Water Treatment Plant could take several weeks to complete. We will continue to keep you updated. Please follow SA Water on Facebook and Twitter for updates, visit sawater.com.au, or call us on 1300 SA WATER for urgent assistance.

20.01.2022 Received a letter asking you to review and confirm your land holding information? See our website revenuesa.sa.gov.au/LandTaxChanges for guidance on what you need to do and assistance on using RevenueSA Online.

20.01.2022 Generally your principal place of residence is exempt from land tax. If the site value (unimproved land value) of your home has always been below the tax free t...hreshold ($450 000 for 2020-21) you would not have been liable for land tax and an exemption may not have been applied. With the introduction from the 2020-21 financial year of new provisions for land held on trust, we need to identify any land that you hold on trust where the site value of that land exceeds $25 000. This is why you have received a letter. If one of the properties listed in your land holding declaration is your home, you may be eligible for a principal place of residence exemption. Please see our land tax exemption page (www.revenuesa.sa.gov.au/LTExemptions) for details on the principal place of residence exemption and how to apply.
