07.01.2022 RBA ANNOUNCEMENT Reserve Bank of Australia has left the cash rate of 0.1 per cent unchanged in their first meeting of 2021. It is forecasted that 0.1 per cent cash rate is here to stay for the next 3 years. Our Financial Services Director Tyson James shared his thoughts on the news.... "The board will not increase the cash rate until actual inflation is sustainable within the 2-3 per cent target range and for this to occur, wage growth will have to be higher than it is at the moment," Mr James said. "It was also encouraging to hear that there's been strong growth in employment and a welcome decline in the unemployment rate down to 6.6 per cent. "Having such a low cash rate for the next couple of years means more people will have an opportunity to access low-interest rate options on their mortgage loans.
