25.01.2022 Over the last few days our crew has been quite busy. We have responded to Jerilderie and Finley to assist them while they had large grass fires burning. Then on Friday night we were called to a local residents property to extinguish a back yard fire. ... You can help us to help you by Preparing you property for fire and having a fire plan in place.

25.01.2022 Early this morning we were called to another grass fire. When we arrived there was a grass fire spreading towards thick bushland and some large trees were alight. Together with Federation Support RFS, we extinguished the flames before it had a chance take hold. ... Luckily the weather was in our favour as who knows what would of happened if we still had the winds we had yesterday afternoon. With the up and coming Cod opening this weekend, campers need to check the fire danger rating and have a exit plan in place. If you do have a fire please ensure it is completely extinguish before leaving and be mindful of all the fuel laying around at this time of year. Again thank you to Federation Support RFS for working with us to achieve this great result.

24.01.2022 Over the last two days we have our crews attending Deniliquin training centre. We were refreshing some of our skills from some of the leaders of their field from Fire and Rescue NSW. While this was happening we were still responding to incidents here at home and supporting Mulwala. ... It was a huge effort by all involved, but we will continue to train to be prepared for anything.

20.01.2022 To most 343 is just a number. To nearly all firefighters around the world, it is a humbling reminder of the events that took place in New York on this day, 19 y...ears ago. This is because on 9/11, 343 New York City Fire Department (FDNY) firefighters did not finish their shift. The tragedy claimed the lives of 2977 innocent victims, and many continue to be impacted. To date, 227 additional firefighters have died with illnesses related to 9/11, with 27 names recently added to the FDNY World Trade Centre Memorial Wall. FRNSW shares deep and personal connections with FDNY, we will never forget the immediate and ongoing loss they were dealt and continue to deal with, all those affected are in our thoughts today. 13.01.2022 Last night here at Corowa, we were lucky enough to have a visit from the Fire and Rescue BA Hazmat truck. This truck is specially designed to simulate a search and rescue scenario to be as realistic as possible to real life. It puts our fire fighters through their paces to re qualify them in breathing apparatus and current search and rescue techniques available. ... This is done so they can protect the irreplaceable and be prepared for anything.

12.01.2022 Early this morning at 1:18am, we were called to a large grass fire just out side of Deniliquin. We sent one of our crews over to assist as it was in crops, and the wind was blowing quite hard. The fire burned approximately 1000ha and as you can see by some of the photos it got close to homes. Luckily the residents in the photos had prepared their house for fire. ... We would like to say thank you to Peter Conallin for sending us these great photos of the incident.

10.01.2022 Last night we were called to a single vehicle accident with Federation Support RFS. A B-double milk truck loaded with 48,000 litres left the road and its rear trailer rolled and ended up on it side. We placed booms across to stop the spill untill Federation council could arranged dirt to put either end of the table drain. This had to be blocked off because approximately 12,000 liters of milk was draining out of the rear trailer. ... We worked closely with EPA to arrange the recovery of the product to prevent any hazard to the environment. Thank you to Albury 209 and for also attending the scene. Then this morning we were called out to a residents home with the smell of gas. A crew in breathing Apparatus searched the property to find the source of the leak. The area was the rendered safe and handed back to the property owner. Nobody was hurt in either incident.
