19.01.2022 BREAKING: Regional Victorians can now access the Murray River and Lake Mulwala permit free. This includes recreational boating enthusiasts without a permit. Local Member for Albury Justin Clancy confirmed the amendment to the Health Order this evening. The order, which was passed and gazetted by Health Minister Brad Hazzard today, allows a person who has been in Victoria in the last 14 days but not in a restricted area or COVID-19 area of concern to enter NSW by accessing the Murray River without the need for a permit, provided that they do not enter an embankment, dock, port or wharf on the northern side of the river. This is an important and much needed step for tourism operators along the Murray and an improvement we’ve been pushing for the past few weeks, Mr Clancy said.

17.01.2022 BREAKING: ‘DAILY LIVING’ BACK..BORDER RESTRICTIONS TO BE AMENDED TONIGHT Residents on the border will now be able to freely travel either side of the Murray River tomorrow.... Local Member for Albury Justin Clancy has confirmed amended border closure restrictions will be in place as of midnight so it is line with Victorian regional easing. Mr Clancy said he had a copy of the NSW Public Health Order which states the amendment will now be in place from midnight tonight, September 16, after it was signed off by the NSW Health Minister Brad Hazzard this afternoon. It means border zone permit holders can tomorrow visit the gym, go to pubs, clubs, restaurants and even exercise in their neighbouring border communities. Mr Clancy originally expected the amendment to be in place as of today but NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian announced in her press conference this morning that amended public health orders were currently with the NSW Health Minister Brad Hazzard and should be signed today or tomorrow with the new rules to be implemented in the coming week. Mr Clancy said he was relieved it has come earlier. This will bring more relief for our border communities, he said.

09.01.2022 BREAKING: BORDER RESTRICTIONS TO BE AMENDED Local Member for Albury Justin Clancy has confirmed border closure restrictions will be amended in line with Victorian regional easing.... Traveling to Sydney yesterday my first port of call today was to contact the Premier - to stress the importance of the border restrictions being eased in line with changes to the Victorian regions, Mr Clancy said. I’m pleased that the Premier spoke to this later this morning, saying she will make an announcement tomorrow regarding changes to coronavirus restrictions for border communities. It comes as Victorian Premier Daniel Andrews said regional communities will be able to move more freely from 11.59pm Wednesday. Ms Berejiklian has said NSW would also amend restrictions for consistency. This will bring more relief for our border communities, Mr Clancy said.
