Yes, not friction, not rubbing but pure sheer. Thats why they are so tricky to heal and prevent. Let me know.. How do you prevent blisters? Do you pop them? Or leave them?Ill show you how I treat them.

25.01.2022 Happy Wednesday. What a nice surprise this morning

25.01.2022 Question: Why might I see a Podiatrist? General foot care - including difficult to cut nails, corns/callus, ingrown toe nails and warts. Thickened or curled nails can be tricky to treat at home - particularly when you cant quite reach them anymore. They can also become painful. We are able to help you with that. ... Callus (medically known as hyperkeratosis) is an area of hard, thickened skin on your feet that forms in response to pressure or friction (areas of high load, poor-fitting footwear etc). A corn (medically known as heloma durum or heloma molle) is a concentrated area of hard skin, and if it is left untreated it can feel like a stone in your shoe. Ouch! Sometimes corns can be mistaken for warts (medically known as plantar verruca). Best let your podiatrist deal with this one. Ingrown toe nails (medically known as onychocryptosis) are very painful and if left untreated they can affect your sport, activity or work. They can also occur more than once and people often dont know what to do with them. Sometimes a minor surgery is needed (medically known as a Partial or Total Nail Avulsion). It is a very effective solution to permanently remove the nail edge. Ingrown toe nail = GONE. If you have any questions contact below: 0438269658 [email protected] WEBSITE - COMING SOON

22.01.2022 We know a healthy diet and exercise is important. But do we really know how important it is? I have recently read a research article discussing the term "Cocacolonization. 22.01.2022 Pandemic Update! This is how we are managing the outbreak. Please try and apply these tips in all of your activities of daily living. All of these steps will be expected of clients throughout the winter months as well (i.e. flu season). The idea is that the general public reduces contact with our doctors, so that they can protect our community and combat this illness. So if you have an ingrown toe nail, corns/callus or sore feet and not sure where to go, call and make an appointment. Everyday is changing so we will keep you updated with what is happening in the podiatry world Please, if your sick or recently been overseas please stay at home! I am always happy to re-schedule appointments #flattenthecurve

21.01.2022 Following up on a post that I did a couple of weeks ago. Paediatric shoes ... I love this brand! So great for little feet and they are super cute. What is the aim? Attipas shoes mimic barefoot walking, so your baby can still feel the ground and wiggle their toes while learning to walk. ... 1. Flat heel 2. Wide toe box 3. Flexible sole 4. Rounded sole 5. Minimal cushioning 6. Machine washable (gets 3 ticks from me ) Attipas are an Australian made brand designed by Podiatrists. We also encourage barefoot walking in a protected environment. 18.01.2022 Ingrown toenails An ingrown toe nail occurs when the sides or top of the nail grows into the skin around the toe. It can occur in any toe, but usually affects the big toenails. They can be extremely painful and can make walking, sport or wearing shoes unbearable. Often people don’t realise that there is something that you can do about ingrown toe nails, particularly if they have been longstanding. ... Mild discomfort? Redness or inflamed? Ongoing issue? Remember home DIY treatments often lead to infections. If this is you, please contact a podiatrist. We get great satisfaction from removing a stubborn nail edge. 12.01.2022 What are 3D printed orthotics? There is no doubt that new technology is changing the podiatry world, particularly when it comes to orthotics. The newest devices on the block are 3D printed and there are some really great reasons why this type of material is being used. In saying that, the polypropelene and carbon fibre devices still have their place. 3D printing uses a shell material called PA11. It is lighter than polypropelene with a similar flex and faster rebound rate. ...The thickness of PA11 is customisable and is accurate to the microns. PA11 is a plant-based material that is made from the castor plant. It is a renewable source and does not compete with our food for consumption. It also has almost zero waste!! Less than 0.5% waste to be accurate. PA11 3D printed orthoses have a lot of benefits: - Lightweight - Smooth finish - Consistent flex - Accurate to microns - Environmentally friendly - Minimal waste - No human error Do you have foot pain? Do you need new orthotics? Book online at: https://corowa-podiatry.au1.cliniko.com/bookings 0438269658 [email protected] WEBSITE COMING SOON 2a River Street Corowa NSW 2646

05.01.2022 2nd most commonly asked question... Do I need a referral? A couple of points to this one including HOME VISITS. No you do not require a referral to see a Podiatrist. If you have private health that covers Podiatry, you are able to claim on the spot after your appointment. ... If you have a chronic disease, you may be eligible for a Chronic Disease Management Plan (formerly known as Enhanced Primary Care). This is decided by your GP. If you are eligible, these visits will be bulk-billed by Medicare. We welcome DVA clients, DVA Health cards (White and Gold) are accepted. A D904 referral from your GP is required. HOME VISITS are accepted for the above categories (after COVID-19). 05.01.2022 Chilblains Despite the lovely days we are having here in Corowa, the cold frosty mornings and cold nights are upon us! Chilblains are itchy, red sores that appear on the toes (or feet) in response to the cold temperature. The small blood vessels shut down and when heated up quickly, it can result in blood leaking into the tissues. Please do not put your cold toes in front of a heater or under a hot shower! Gradually warm them up. ... This cream below is used to soothe the toes, safe for children and is used twice per day! If you need it or know if someone who does I have here at Corowa Podiatry. Use good quality socks and avoid getting your feet wet. Genetics, age and poor peripheral circulation can contribute to the presence of Chilblains. Keep those feet rugged up!
