23.01.2022 Try: Brazilian jiu-jitsu Why? Unlike the Japanese version from which it was born, Brazilian jiu-jitsu takes place completely on the floor, so you'll learn how to defend yourself even when you're lying on the ground. It builds strength fast (especially in your core!) and teaches patience under pressure - and it'll also show you how to outsmart someone bigger than you. Try it out with our resident BJJ coaches Nick Lovison and Jonny Toshio. Nick runs our morning BJJ classes and ...Jonny runs our evening and comp classes. Nicks journey through the martial arts world commenced in 2004 with the practice of Seiku-Kan Karate. From there, Nick’s passion for health and fitness grew and he obtained his Certificate III & IV in fitness. In early 2010 Nick was introduced to BJJ and was instantly enthralled. From there, he began instructing ages 3 and up in Brazilian Jujitsu, Jujitsu, Self Defence and MMA. In 2013, Nick was selected as part of the Australian Jujitsu Team. Nick currently holds his Brown belt in BJJ, Black Belt in Jujitsu Sports and 1st Kyu in Karate and is a NCAS level 1 Assistant Coast with the Australian Sport Commission. For Nick, Martial Arts is a way of life, philosophy and a state of well-being. Johnny started his martial arts journey in 2008 back in Brazil training Judo, where he received his Purple Belt, trained as an athlete and competed in over 30 tournaments. Johnny won a Championship at the State level and qualified for Nationals, unfortunately however, he was off the mats for a few years due to an herniated disk. In 2014, BJJ became a replacement to being on the mats. Training under World Champions like Eduardo Zanetti and Sapo in Curitiba, Johnny received his Blue Belt in 2017. Johnny’s training methodology revolves around high volumes of drills and body movement and flow rolls for minimum injury risk. BJJ - Nick Lovison Monday - Friday 6.00am - 7.00am BJJ - Jonny Toshio Monday - Thursday 6.30pm - 7.30pm BJJ - Comp class - Jonny Toshio Mondays, Wednesdays 7.30pm - 8.30pm Saturdays 8.00am - 9.00am

20.01.2022 What are Pads? As demonstrated here by Team Thai Job - Pro- Muay Thai Fighter Approx 130 fights. Pads are a round robin, one on one session with a professional pads trainer. ... Pad work can be as intense, or as entry level as you like whilst you learn new techniques. A trainer will mimic a fight sequence within your 3x 3-min rounds. This not only helps to build cardiovascular endurance, but this process helps build and teach defensive and offensive strategies. A fighter can sharpen his reflexes with pad training. A gradual process that improves over time. A fighter can react faster through repeated practice and training. How do ask for a pads session? Approach a Pads trainer , in the ring - Pads trainer will be wearing a Corporate Box Shirt. Let them know you will warm up and to grab you when its your turn. Warm up: Use the cardio machines, skip, shadow box or use the heavy bags to warm yourself up until a pads trainer calls you over. Complete your pads session 3x 3min rounds with 1x 1min rest in between. Warm down: Continue what you have learnt in the pads session on the heavy bags, focusing on techniques you may need further practice is. Stretch and finish up.

18.01.2022 Introducing Mr and Mrs Taylor!! Congrats to CBV Trainer @mickeyt_cbv and Abbie on their special day

17.01.2022 Try: Boxing Why? If you want improved reflexes and to burn up to 500 calories an hour, it's also for you. But here's the thing: along with a stronger body, you'll also get a stronger mind, including the confidence that comes with being able to handle yourself in any situation. In a non-contact class you can expect to shadow box (punch the air), hit pads, and do resistance moves to tone the muscles you need to punch with power. Try out boxing with our Boxing Coach Meem Reza... Meems is a qualified boxing coach who has been training and studying the sport for over five years. He has been a fitness and sporting enthusiast from a very young age and has had numerous fights in both amateurs and corporate throughout the years. He is still a young, active fighter, who is looking to represent Australia as an amateur boxer. Meems is now bringing his experience and passion for the sport of boxing to the Corporate Box Valley Team. Pure Boxing Monday and Wednesday 5.45pm - 6.30pm Tuesday and Thursday 6.30pm - 7.15pm

02.01.2022 Try: Brazilian jiu-jitsu Why? Unlike the Japanese version from which it was born, Brazillian jiu-jitsu takes place completely on the floor, so you'll learn how to defend yourself even when you're lying on the ground. It builds strength fast (especially in your core!) and teaches patience under pressure - and it'll also show you how to outsmart someone bigger than you.

02.01.2022 Including exercise into your day can be a struggle for most of us. Work and other commitments can easily distract the best of intentions. Setting an intention to exercise more regularly is one thing, but when it comes time to commit to a workout, it can feel like you have an endless supply of excuses to skip it. One of the biggest questions you need to ask is?... Is exercise a priority for you? Setting this intention is valuable. The 2 most important elements to fitness success is planning and scheduling workouts. Have a Plan Know What You're Planning to Work on. Be it a class you want to try out. Tell others about it. Sharing is a big help when seeking support on planning and scheduling your workouts. Have a visual workout plan. Planning and scheduling your workouts mean being able to see your workout. If you're not in a class, you should have your workout written down by hand or on your digital device. Simply remembering what to do next is not reliable when you're tired and on a time-schedule. A visual reminder will keep you in-check with getting all your exercises inline the right order with the right time expectations. Enlist family, friends, co-workers, Get social. Become part of a team The importance of scheduling Identify the following: When is The Best Time to Workout? How Long Should the Workout Last? Scheduling Put Your Workouts in Your Calendar Set Timers. Timers are a non-obvious planning and scheduling your workouts tip. I am obsessed with timers. I use timers during my workouts to track my sets and breaks as well as before my workout to make sure I don't get distracted with other things before my workout even begins. Say "No" more often. Part of planning and scheduling your workouts is that you're planning time for yourself. Don't let others take that away from you. Don't feel bad about turning down a basic social commitment because of your workout.
