11.01.2022 I live on the border of New South Wales and Victoria do I need a permit? You do not need a permit if you live in one of the local government areas identified as exempt from carrying a permit. You must carry photo identification that shows your address such as a driver licence as evidence of you residing in an exempt local government area. If you are under the age of 18, you do not need to produce identification that shows your address. If you live in a local government ...area that is exempt but you have visited, been in, or travelled through Northern Beaches or you are required to isolate or quarantine in the State of New South Wales and you are prohibited from entering Victoria. You must follow the advice of New South Wales Health. If you are already in Victoria, you must immediately isolate for 14 days. If you live in one of the local government areas exempt from the permit system (border communities) and have entered or travelled in or through a Red Zone since 11 December or in the last 14 days (whichever is later), you cannot enter Victoria. The local government areas that are exempt from needing a permit are: Victoria Alpine Valleys Benalla Bendigo Buloke Campaspe East Gippsland Gannawarra Indigo Loddon Mildura Moira Shepparton Swan Hill Towong Wangaratta Wodonga Yarriambiack New South Wales Albury City Balranald Bega Valley Berrigan Broken Hill Edward River Federation Greater Hume Hay Lockhart Murray River Murrumbidgee Snowy Monaro Snowy Valleys Wagga Wagga Wentworth Other ‘unincorporated local government areas’ (not including Lord Howe Island) A person is not required to apply for a Victorian Border Crossing Permit to enter Victoria from New South Wales if they have an exemption. https://www.coronavirus.vic.gov.au/victorian-border-crossin

07.01.2022 RECOVERY IDEAS ARE FLOWING IN The Corryong Community Recovery Committee (CCRC) is currently analysing the ideas for the district that were submitted in its rece...nt community survey. These will be reviewed at a workshop in November and the community will be invited to provide feedback on the key themes and priorities identified. The CCRC gives a voice to the broad views and recovery goals of all community members in Corryong and surrounds. It will provide help to existing community groups and organisations to formalise their priorities and achieve their funding and project goals. The CCRC primary purpose is to liaise on behalf of the community with Towong Shire Council, Bushfire Recovery Victoria, local service organisations and government agencies. It does not directly manage funds or implement projects, but instead supports existing community groups and organisations with recovery activities and projects.
