24.01.2022 A flood watch has been issued for the Murray River from Biggara to Lake Hume.
24.01.2022 Certainly NO crossing at Towong and would imagine Tintaldra is the same. Plan your route, leave plenty of extra time and drive safely. For all border closures and restricted crossings please see the Victraffic app or go to https://traffic.vicroads.vic.gov.au/
21.01.2022 With the BOM predicting above average rainfall for the next 3 months and a La Niña, now is the time to prepare. The predicted rainfall could result in local flooding similar to what we experienced in 2010-2012 and 2016.
20.01.2022 Tomorrow afternoon (Monday 21st), severe thunderstorms with damaging wind gusts are likely over the Northeast district. There is a slight risk of large hail and heavy rainfall leading to flash flooding with these storms.

14.01.2022 Work has commenced to re-open the Benambra-Corryong road as part of the Upper Murray bushfire recovery efforts. The works include the assessment and removal of ...hazardous trees, drainage repairs and critical road maintenance between Stacey’s Bridge in the north and Gibbo River Bridge in the south, reducing the risk to people travelling along the road. The road was significantly impacted by the Upper Murray - Walwa fire and since then the road has also been damaged by flash flooding, as shown in this video. This work is being managed by Forest Fire Management Victoria and VicForest contractors. Once the initial works are completed Regional Roads Victoria will commence road repairs and reinstatement of road related infrastructure. We are very aware that this road is an important road for the community and tourists, and we are working to get these works done as quickly as possible. Some of the hazardous trees removed from State Forest will be made available to the community for firewood as part of the Upper Murray bushfire recovery program. For all road and track closures, we recommend that visitors refer to www.parkweb.vic.gov.au/ and www.vicroads.vic.gov.au/ for the most up to date information. 13.01.2022 4 members attended a multi agency rescue of a paraglider pilot who fell 30 metres to the ground after her chute collapsed shortly after launching. VISES, AV, CFA & VICPOL all worked well together to get the casualty loaded onto HEMS. Mt. Elliot launch site near Corryong.
11.01.2022 With predicted heavy rainfall, now is a good time to clean out your gutters. Debris free gutters help protect your home during storms and fires.

03.01.2022 Something light hearted for a change!
03.01.2022 IMPORTANT NOTE REGARDING TINTALDRA ROAD BORDER CROSSING From 10pm this Sunday (6 September 2020), the border crossing at Tintaldra Road, Tintaldra will be close...d between 10pm and 6am, seven days per week. This decision has been made in consultation with the local community, as we have had extremely low numbers crossing overnight. There will still be access for emergency services and the crossing will be routinely patrolled, so don’t try anything cheeky! Anyone wishing to cross from Victoria into NSW during these times will need to go to either Jingellic Road, Jingellic to the west, or Bringenbrong Bridge, Bringenbrong to the east. We would like to thank the entire Riverina community for their understanding and patience as we continue with Operation Border Closure.
02.01.2022 A huge thank you to the Upper Murray Community Bakery for supporting WOW day by baking these lovely cupcakes and donating all proceeds to Corryong SES.
02.01.2022 As predicted, La Nina weather patterns are bringing rain and threatening localised flooding this week. Stay informed.
01.01.2022 Severe thunderstorms likely from midnight tonight.
01.01.2022 We can confirm that Tintaldra bridge is now open as a manned checkpoint border crossing. Emergency Services and permit holders can now cross at this checkpoint.
