25.01.2022 Ken and Amanda put together a top run today, for lunch at the local pub in Kenilworth. Weather was kind and the food great. Really good to see so many club members keen to give the Vettes a good run.

23.01.2022 Thanks to GM for sharing with us the FINAL 2020 Corvette stats! Though production will continue through early December, order changes are no longer available so... they were able to go ahead and pull the numbers. What do you think the most popular options were? Check them out here: https://www.corvettemuseum.org/2020-corvette-final-model-y/

22.01.2022 On the road again.... just can't wait to get on the road again....

20.01.2022 Joe's Diner Eagle Farm 4h Joe’s Diner car meet CANCELLED Good afternoon everyone. We were really looking forward to holding Joe’s Diners first car meet since restrictions were put in place but unfortunately today I was informed that we can not go ahead with the meet. With the high volume of people expected we will be over the 500 person limit and require permits to go ahead. We are now looking into this avenue as it is an event and outside of our normal trading hours.... Good news is we are still open for breakfast EVERY Saturday for the car and bike community if you wish to attend. Strict COVID guidelines will be followed as always. Once again we are sincerely sorry and can’t wait to get back into the proper meets. Unfortunately it is out of our control. I need everyone to please share this as much as possible and hope to see you for breakfast. We are gutted. Cheers Steve and Cherie See more

19.01.2022 Yep, no speed limits a real buzz.

15.01.2022 Three factory-built Corvette L88s left the St. Louis plant for delivery to James Garner’s Los Angeles-based American International Racing (AIR) team in November... 1967. These Le Mans Blue convertibles were the first production models featuring the new L88 engine with first-generation closed-chamber aluminum heads. The cars were actually picked up at Gene Jantzen Chevrolet in St. Louis and then driven to California by Dick Guldstrand, Bob McDonald, and Perry Moore. As soon as the cars arrived, the engines were taken to Travers & Coons (TRACO) to be prepared for racing. At the 24 Hours of Daytona in 1968, the two cars in this photo out-qualified all other FIA competition in their class. Unfortunately, endurance races are the true test of all things mechanical and the #45 Corvette driven by Scooter Patrick, Dave Jordan and Herb Caplan failed to finish due to a blown engine. The #44 car driven by Dick Guldstrand and Ed Leslie suffered numerous problems with the rear differential and finished 29th and 300 laps behind the leaders. At Sebring Garner didn't enter the Corvettes instead going with a Lola T70 Mk.3 GT which was a DNF. The #44 car sold for $744,000 at the Bonhams & Butterfields auction at Quail Lodge in Carmel Valley, California, on August 15, 2008. Obviously having a famous previous owner had increased the price dramatically. The original list for the car was $5,267.90. Tune-up cost on this car could run you between $400 and $500. Eric Della Faille photo. Trivia: Finishing right behind the Garner Corvette was the Morgan Plus-4 of George Waltman. George ran the entire race without a co-driver or pit crew. As required by FIA regs. he took an hour break for every three he drove. He even drove this car down from his home in New York and drove it back after the race. Now consider how much it cost George to race that weekend compared to James Garner's team with drivers, pit crew, etc., etc. Those were some good old days when you could "run what you brung."

14.01.2022 This does not sound like any Jaguar I have ever heard. Good to see you out front Larry....

13.01.2022 Cool comparison.

12.01.2022 Is there a better mix than beautiful muscle cars & legendary racers? The last time we were at Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta, we had a great #VROC event, and wh...ile we can't do right now with the pandemic, we are still planning an amazing event for this weekend! SVRA will be joined by The Trans Am Series presented by Pirelli, International GT & the Radical Cup for an unforgettable Atlanta SpeedTour event. Spectators are welcome (get your tickets here -- speedtour.net/atlanta) & we will be live streaming Saturday & Sunday on the SVRA App (get the app here: https://bit.ly/38Nt0WG). Join us in #Atlanta for a great weekend of racing!
