25.01.2022 ING Clients - If you have a variable rate and want to take advantage of the current fixed rates then you have various options. Make sure you are aware of any restrictions around fixing a loan ie break costs if you break the fixed loan, limitations on additional repayments and no offset account against the fixed portion. If you have money in redraw then you need to also specify what you want done with that. You can split the loan and have a portion variable and another port...ion fixed. 24.01.2022 Bankwest Clients - you have an option to fix for 3 years owner occupied P and I loans at 2.33% (CR 3.51%) Again before you fix make sure you are aware of any restrictions regarding this, ie break costs, additional payments and offset features and existing funds in redraw. 23.01.2022 Westpac - If you are wanting to take advantage of the fixed rate available (2 years 2.29% Owner Occupied P and I) then you can do so by calling them 132558 - no paperwork required and call wait time is about 10 mins or you can go to the Westpac website and request a call back. 23.01.2022 Rates have fallen 3 times in the last 6 months with 2 and 3 year fixed rates probably around 1 rate cut below the current new to lender variable rates. This probably factors in one more rate cut! But if you want certainty in knowing what you are going to be paying for the next 2 years or you have been at your current lender for a while and are paying overs on interest rates then some good options there. Adelaide Bank product has a full offset against the fixed rate and for other lenders if you wanted an offset account then can look at having a small variable split to offset against.

10.01.2022 If any of you are considering taking up the Banks no repayments for 6 months due to current economic climate, please check with your Bank/lender first . Chances are that interest will continue to capitalise monthly and at the end of 6 months you will have a compounded debt which you will have to make catch up repayments for . This has not been clearly communicated yet by Anna Blight of the ABA or Banks/lenders and is in my opinion confusing and potentially misleading . Check with your mortgage broker and/ or lender and obtain clarification before you take up this offer. Stay safe !
