19.01.2022 The world has changed so much within a short timeframe. To think, a year ago I was in New York enjoying what I love most and traveling the world. So many beautiful places have been have been devastated by COVID-19. This has been a time for reflection for me. To stop, re-prioritise and take advantage of slowing down from my busy lifestyle. I think so many lessons have been learnt through this crazy time, and for me personally not having control of the situation has taught m...e to live day by day and appreciate what I have when others have so much less. I am getting so many messages about when I might return to work, for once I can’t plan and I just have to go with it. I can’t give anyone a date until there have been official restrictions lifted for my industry. 05.01.2022 TOTAL FACE DERMAL FILLER TREATMENT Let’s start with talking about the upper face.. We lose facial volume as we age. This can give us an appearance of tired and saggy.... What can we do about it? During an initial consultation, I will discuss the individual patient concerns and educate them on the ageing process and the contributing factors leading to those concerns. I will then decide the best treatment plan moving forward based off expected results and budget. With this particular patient, I planned her treatment’s over 4 different sessions, 4-6 weeks apart. Her main concern was her under eye area appearing ‘puffy’ and tired all the time. This is a common concern. Although this area may bother someone, it is often an area that should be left untreated non-surgically if their anatomy presents complexities that are not beneficial to treat directly with dermal filler. This patient does get fluid retention in the eye area, often appearing worse in the morning. This can indicate that it is an area to avoid with dermal filler. However, with careful assessment and product placement you can significantly improve the area by treating the supporting structures. The areas treated in the mid-upper face were: 1. Temples 2. Mid cheek 3. Lateral cheek During her initial treatment to the above areas, 4ml of structured and long lasting dermal filler were used. What an improvement, and we didn’t even treat the under eye area (tear trough)! 04.01.2022 ‘But filler looks puffy and unnatural’ I have done many posts on dermal fillers and despite education, the general public remain fearful of treatment because of the concern of being unnatural. To be honest, I don’t blame many people as unfortunately there are some very over filled faces out there! My job is to educate and show you real patient results, natural results!... I have done a series of treatments on my beautiful patient. Her concerns were tiredness and puffy eyes, and she wanted to look more youthful. She was also very nervous about having fillers because she wanted to look natural and not ‘puffy and round’. I am privileged to have the trust of many patients to be able to meet their expectations with noticeable but undetected results. Initially we started with a very in-depth consultation that involved educating her on facial ageing, results, risks/complications and then I developed comprehensive treatment plan with her goals in mind. I did a series of treatments at 4-6 week intervals, to build support slowly and to give her the results she wanted.
