23.01.2022 Just in: NSW Government to open for the 491 Visa On 11 June 2020, NSW Department of Treasury has announced that it will begin accepting NSW nomination for the Skilled Work Regional (Provisional) visa (subclass 491) on Monday 15 June 2020 till Tuesday 23 June 2020 and assessing the application till the end of the current financial year. Time Frame... Start Date: 15 June 2020 End Date: 23 June 2020 All applicants must meet all the essential criterias highlighted below: Must hold skill assessment on nominated occupation within NSW Stream 1 Regional Skilled Occupation List (examples - Cafe or Restaurant Manager, Accountant, Civil Engineer, Registered Nurse, etc) Visit https://www.business.nsw.gov.au//skilled-work-regional-pro check the NSW Stream 1 Regional Skilled Occupation List Must have been living and working in designated regional areas in NSW for at least the last 12 months Visit https://immi.homeaffairs.gov.au//skil/regional-postcodesto check the postcode of the qualified designated regional areas in NSW Must have been working in the nominated occupation, or a closely related occupation, for at least the last 12 months. Commonwealth Government Media Release - Student visa arrangements for those impacted by COVID * The Government will recommence granting student visas in all locations lodged outside Australia. This means when borders re-open, students will already have visas and be able to make arrangements to travel. * International students will be able to lodge a further student visa application free of charge if they are unabl...e to complete their studies within their original visa validity due to COVID-19. * Current student visa holders studying online outside Australia due to COVID-19 will be able to use that study to count towards the Australian study requirement for a post-study work visa. * Graduates who held a student visa will be eligible to apply for a post-study work visa outside Australia if they are unable to return due to COVID-19. * Additional time will be given for applicants to provide English language results where COVID-19 has disrupted access to these services 20 July 2020 NB: The expected legislative changes in order to implement those announcements are yet to come into effect.
