Held at the Leeuwin Estate, this year’s show saw 656 exhibits from 104 exhibitors judged by a team of all Western Australian judges. Evans & Tate Redbrook Estate Cabernet Merlot 2018 took home the Cospak / Saverglass Trophy for Best Cabernet Sauvignon Blend. This was proudly presented by Cospak’s WA Area Manager, Susan Reid. Matt, a hardworking single dad of two loves camping, fishing and cooking for his friends and family. A mad Collingwood supporter, he can be found in his veggie patch tending to his chillies and spending time with his kids when not at work. Matt says, The daily challenges that my 18 yrs at Cospak has offered me, each day has its own new challenges to keep it interesting. A born and bred Queenslander, Kelvin started his working life as an industrial chemist before moving to sales. Kelvin’s vast experience in different markets sets him apart when providing technical advice for packaging projects. This week’s question - How can you tell if glass is food safe? Kelvin said, Throughout history, glass has been the packaging of choice due to its i...nert nature. It’s also a great oxygen barrier, preventing oxidisation which can cause wine to degrade or oils to go rancid. It’s important to note however, not all glass is made equal. Two types of pure glass, borosilicate and soda-lime silicate is approved for food storage. At Cospak, all our glass products are produced to the highest standard, making them suitable for food, beverage or pharmaceutical applications.
