20.01.2022 Winewanker post!!! An interesting week, awesome and shite, both ends of the spectrum. My team won the premier league, the Gyms are open, I grabbed a bit of work fixing aeroplanes but a mate unfortunately shuffled off this mortal coil today. I’m celebrating all, including Baco’s life & influence on me by cracking this sensational wine. 2015 Henschke Cabernet from the Eden Valley. A big wine for big fella. RIP mate.

17.01.2022 Cool job to the bench today! ( one of many). 1960s Valve AM/FM Radio with a heap of old valves most Made in Australia, back when this island actually made shit. This amp was repaired locally in 1972 (when I was not even 1 yr old. ) for the grand total of $17; $6 of it being labour! Love the history of this stuff.

10.01.2022 An update on the early 1900s German Mandolin. She went back together under sufferance but we got there!! Haha. French polished and semi aged to make it not look brand new. Had to remodel the bridge with some Rosewood I had lying around to raise the action. Sounds and looks terrific. 09.01.2022 Well after a long holiday in the Coteguitars workshop, the 1937 Gibson Kalamazoo has gone home. What a job! It was a mess when I got it. I wanted to do it, despite the time and effort. I enjoyed every second of the journey. This guitar has some serious history. Feel blessed to bring it back to life. I Wanted to keep its ‘look’ whilst making it playable in 2020. I think I achieved it. Refret, neck reset, new bridge, nut & tuners. Repairs to 20+ cracks. New neck binding, aged to suit. I need to lie down now!! Haha. 08.01.2022 No idea why Maton use these RJ telephone style connectors on their (otherwise great) guitars. They don’t work on coax. They go intermittent so easily. My fix involves smaller cable soldered onto the coax and hot glue as support. Vent over!!! Haha #maton #guitartech

08.01.2022 Wow. Just fitted #tvjones Tele pups to this MIJ beauty. Quite possibly the best #telecaster pups I’ve ever heard. 4 way switch for serial boost. Also fitted Gotoh locking tuners and all new wiring and pots. I want first dibs if he ever sells this geetar! #guitartech

02.01.2022 Fun fact of the day. Prior to mid 80s ish, Fender installed their frets from the side. Fun and games to take out! Has to be done from the side with a sharp punch. Especially tricky with the amount of poly laquer they used on this 1975 neck, it’s all up the fret sides. There is a reason a refret isn’t a cheap exercise.
