22.01.2022 Today we’re saying goodbye to the cutest little house in Manly We have loved living here for the better part of 3 years! It holds so many memories and a special place in Cote’s history. It is in #cocoscabana that I had my very first photoshoot, launched my business and grew it to what it is today. I’ll miss the charming weatherboards and surrounding mini jungle - talk about #coteholidaylifestyle! But I am so thrilled to start our next chapter in a home we finally get to really call our own. While its not quite business as usual, Im still working away - designing & planning projects - but this space and time is truly inspiring me to create something new. Here you can see how the brass wall lights look against the texture of the ocean-hued grasscloth wallpaper in the Master Bedroom. You can imagine the clients existing art above our custom designed fluted oak dresser.... 18.01.2022 Australia Having not grown up here, I definitely had some preconceived notions about what this country looked like. It was either glossy images of Bondi Beach or wide shots of the red earth outback. That was it. It has been incredible to learn about the diversity of this land over the past 3.5 years.... Ive come to appreciate the wide array of unique flora and fauna. Im constantly inspired by the colours ranging from the vibrant yellow of wattle trees to the subtle green grey of gum leaves. I love how quickly it can all change in a short drive or flight! And, while I now recognise the massive range of this beautiful country, I have to say I havent felt more like I was in Australia until walking through this valley in the Blue Mountains with gumtree covered peaks looming and the sun catching the red rock escarpments. We were surrounded by kangaroos in the hundreds munching on yellow-green grass. We spotted wombats and dingoes, cockatoos and kookaburras. Even an elusive platypus! The temperature changed from blustery winter to strip-off-your-jacket summer in the matter of an hour. It was stunning. It was awe-inspiring. I just recommended it this week for a barn turned pool cabana on a rural farm! The earthy tones will pick up on the landscape while the aqua will be perfect adjacent to the pool. Were figuring out how we can help as many people as possible create a home that feels like an oasis amidst the current chaos. 14.01.2022 A peek inside our process As part of our Design Presentation, we create 3D digital renders to help our clients visualise exactly what their home will look like. These photo realistic images are especially helpful for elements like custom joinery, which can be difficult to understand in the technical elevations we draw for our trades. The lines of this custom piece by @limone.art are reflected in the curved reception desk. The walls have an organic appeal thanks to the deft hand of @ludibragainterior and her epic French wash. And those lights!!! A stand out feature from our fab friends at @montauklightingco. I love how this space came together for the lovely ladies of @faceby_sm. #designedbycote

06.01.2022 Starting off the week with some kind words from some even kinder clients We loved helping them reimagine their kitchen and bathrooms to make clever use of small spaces, increasing functionality and impact. We also developed a whole new colour and finishes palette to connect their existing heritage home to their new contemporary addition and outdoor space. Currently under construction and we cannot wait to see the final result!

05.01.2022 Renewed energy this week after a quiet long weekend at home. While Ive actually been enjoying the quiet time (despite my extroverted nature ) Im feeling really motivated by all the exciting things Im working on, including design projects, plans for our new home, a whole new service offering, a complete website overhaul, and more! The amount we have grown, learned, experienced, and changed is absolutely mind blowing. Were bottling up all that goodness and refining our brand, our business and our services. Today I had a call with the incredible mentor @kristajanesmith and the outstanding group of women from @ownerscollective where we collectively let go of the fear and anxiety that is taking over at the moment. We shared love and light amongst ourselves and sent it out into the world. There was breathing, meditation and tears.... Yes, it was very woo woo, but, honestly, if any circumstance calls for woo woo it is now In this new state of calm, we asked ourselves what this time means for us and for our businesses. How can we shift our perspective from uncertainty to positivity? How can we continue to shine our light in this scary world? Ive decided this time is about going inwards for me. Im diving deep into Cotes vision and mission. Im tightening up our systems and processes. Im polishing the brand and strategising our marketing. Im considering how we can help more people live that holiday lifestyle at home. And, you know what? Im excited! Im no longer overwhelmed with fear and just cannot wait to re-emerge and share everything with you guys. Im well aware there are still much bigger and worse things happening out there, but I truly believe the good vibes Im putting out help!
