17.01.2022 Our Ting-a-ling-a-loldier class is one of my favourites. 150 + toy soldiers to play with - and so much beautiful music by Tchaikovsky, Kabalevsky, Khatchaturian, Maykapar, Prokofiev and Bach ... along with a beautiful arrangement of "O Soldier, Soldier" by Timothy Salter. And, most importantly, we learnt how to make Sugar Plums!!!

17.01.2022 We are so happy to announce that, from 2020, our Monday musicianship classes will be held in the beautiful grounds of Bold Park Community School in Wembley. We'll be running Babies and two-year-old programs from Bold Park's beautiful Early Childhood Centre, nestled against Lake Monger - a stunning music space. Bold Park is a truly beautiful school that shares our Cottage ethos - heart-centred education with respect for the needs and potential of every child. We can't wait for February! xx

12.01.2022 I love reading articles like these, and I it is wonderful to see these beautiful links from researchers coming in from all over the world and the committed schools and educators who follow this through. I see this every day - for many years now - with the children in Cottage. After 21 years of Cottage though, I find it is more about what music can bring to a child, that beautiful kaleidoscope of wonder and knowing that is completely a child's own. Let children play, take their time, listen, wonder, dream, question and make their own meaning out of music. xxx

07.01.2022 Hi Everyone! Three times a week we will be posting videos of the rhymes and songs we use in class for our little ones and their families. Today we have one of our very favourites - This Little Cow. We hope you enjoy these tickles at home! We love you all and miss you very much - and can't WAIT to see you again. Take care. xxx

06.01.2022 I have ten little fingers, They all belong to me. And I can make them do things... Would you like to see? I can open them up wide... Shut them very tight, Squeeze them close together And hide them out of sight. I can jump them up high And dance them down low. And then I fold them silently And sit just so. See more

05.01.2022 So proud of the beautiful Sophie Lenz, the eldest of the three Lenz girls we have been privileged to share music with. She, like her sisters, is a fantastic natural musician and on Friday she performed a solo at the Perth Arena for the One Big Voice concert. So happy for Sophie and her wonderful family. Love, love, love. xxxx

03.01.2022 Once a little boy sent me a charming card with a little drawing on it. I loved it. I answer all my children’s letters sometimes very hastily but this one I lingered over. I sent him a card and I drew a picture of a Wild Thing on it. I wrote, Dear Jim: I loved your card. Then I got a letter back from his mother and she said, Jim loved your card so much he ate it. That to me was one of the highest compliments I’ve ever received. He didn’t care that it was an original Maurice Sendak drawing or anything. He saw it, he loved it, he ate it. Maurice Sendak

03.01.2022 Much has been and will be written about this beautiful man, this man who went out of his way for me thirty years ago and whose kindness and support changed the course of my life. I will always love you Richard.
