25.01.2022 This has now been sold. 1800’s warming dinner plate. It can be filled with hot water to keep the meal warm. Not only is it practical, but it is attractive as decoration and a talking point. It does have a crack and is missing a handle, but this can be forgiven due to its age. Better still it is very affordable at $28.

17.01.2022 Early 1900’s brass, bevelled edge shaving mirror probably used for traveling as it can be folded up. It has candle holders on each side. It is an unusual mirror in excellent condition. Prices is $125. The horse seen in the mirror is the Flying Horse of Gansu. A Chinese bronze sculpture from circa the 2nd century CE. Discovered in the late 60's near the city of Wuwei, in the province of Gansu. It was unearthed from a Han tomb at Leitai in Wuwei. The tomb belonged to General Zhang of Zhangye. China included the Gansu Flying Horse in the inaugural list of 64 grade-one cultural relics that are forbidden to be taken out of mainland China even for exhibition. Naturally this is a copy of that horse. Price is $185

09.01.2022 The Privatisation of ANR in 1997 saw a lot being sold over time. The Ghan dinner sets was some that went under the hammer. It came to me via a collector. I have not seen any Ghan dinner sets for sale anywhere. This is a 9 pce set, comprising dinner, entrée, sandwich plate. Soup cup and under plate. Cup and saucer. Desert bowl and wine glass. The set is undamaged, but does show some minor shelf wear. This is a rare opportunity for the railway enthusiast, it is only $150 for the set.

03.01.2022 This art glass cobbler was made by the famous Orrefors factory in Sweden. It has beautiful flowing lines that are anatomically correct. It is not often one finds a piece of art glass of this quality. It stands 115mm tall is about 50mm wide and 60mm deep. It can safely be posted. This wonderful item is $75.

02.01.2022 This bronze figure of an American Indian brave is about 58 cm in length and is about 36 cm tall with a width of 20 cm. It suggests he is sneaking up on something. Because of the subject matter it probably originated from the USA but that is speculation on my part. It can be your for only $430. It would make a good companion to an Indian motorbike too.

02.01.2022 Baked Enamel Sign Modi Spinning and Weaving Mills Co Ltd was inaugurated in 1949 and employed thousands of workers in the town of Modinagar, India. The textile mills have closed around the turn of the century (2000 that is). This authentic (c 1950’s) baked enamel sign is what is left of it here. It still has some of the eyelets that prevents the enamel being damaged when the sign is mounted. It measures 455 mm by 300 mm and the cost is $285.
