21.01.2022 This creation is from my Linear Collection and an image I submitted for the Southern Highlands ART TRAIL. The shape combines inspiration from the bush and sea with contrasting smooth and rough surfaces and deliberate imperfection. The ART TRAIL studio openings and exhibitions take place over 2 weeks with the Opening Night 6/11 and Weekend 1: 7&8 and Weekend 2: 14&15 NOV. I'll let you know after 17 JUL whether I'm selected. 20.01.2022 This is a Smoke Bush sprig. Isn't it divine with it's rich purple-lish leaves and delicate seeds and flowers. The Southern Highlands being so seasonal, provides a changing array of flowers and foliage, which I love to use to fill vases in the cottage. Although it's lush and green down here in the highlands presently, the white climbing roses are a bit spare. Blue Irises have come and gone and the lavender and seaside daisies are reliably taking their turn. 18.01.2022 The weather report in Bundanoon is clear, crisp and beautiful (that is until the big drop that comes around 4.00pm when the sun fades into chilly nights!) We get distinct changes in season here in The Southern Highlands. The winter colours include rich wine reds and deep earthy tones as seen in these star shaped winter leaves. 16.01.2022 In amongst the charred trees (you can see in the background) there is a carpet of green growing back on the bush floor and lots of bud-like pods like this one. Walking in amongst it all brings a lot of mixed emotion - sadness at the devastation as well as joy seeing the regeneration. Morton National Park, Bundanoon.

13.01.2022 My preferred decorating style is a mix old & new, high & low, contemporary & classic, eclectic & minimal, found & gifted - this extends into the garden. This wine box has definitely seen better days but I love it's warm & weathered colour and texture - the perfect container for a little fleshy and characterful, succulent garden. 13.01.2022 Moreton National Park and Bundanoon were victims of the bushfires earlier in the year. Walking through the bush there are a lot of contrasts - between plants regenerating and the blackened derbri. I encourage people to visit the park regardless, to enjoy the vast open space but to also gain insights into the effect of bushfire and an understanding of our Australian flora. I found walking the area very emotional but still full of a very different type of beauty post fire.

12.01.2022 High cathedral ceilings give a sense of space and it's so nice to sleep up here in the main bedroom, particularly to the sound of rain on the roof above. What a terrific start this weekend to The Art Trail...can’t wait for next weekend and I promise I’ll take pics then... was too busy with all the visitors but here’s one showing some of the bronzes in the studio. The one in the front left is called "Ebony" and was purchased on SUN and goes to her new home in Sydney once the trail has finished! The wonderful wood plinths were salvaged from a 6m burned telephone pole from the Penrose bush fire (Spotted Gum). What took place in Morton National park and Bundanoon was far from funny however, as you can see by the surrounding scorched environment.
