25.01.2022 The Best in Rockhampton! We are pretty excited to tell you that Cottages on The Range, in September, 2018, became the highest rated accommodation in Rockhampton, according to Booking.com. Accommodation booking companies survey guests after their stay. Cottages on The Range guests have obviously been very happy with their stay in the Cottages and with their Rockhampton experience. Guests are asked to rate their accommodation experience in 6 categories - staff, facilities, cleanliness, comfort, location and value for money. Our guests have consistently rated us 10/10 in all categories. Is it OK to feel really proud that our little business, less than a year old, has done so well? I hope so, because being proud is making us smile very broadly.

20.01.2022 The Bishop Street Cottage ('Joy's Cottage') provides accommodation for up to 5 people. It contains a master bedroom with a queen bed and TV; a second bedroom with a queen bed and a bedroom/study with a king single bed. Joy's Cottage is a beautiful character cottage in a quiet street on The Range, Rockhampton. The Cottage is a one minute walk to the Mater Hospital and five minutes walk to the Botanic Gardens, Zoo, Cafe and Rockhampton Golf Course. A 10 - 15 minute walk with ...take you to the two Grammar Schools, Cathedral College and the Base Hospital. The lounge and bedrooms have split system air-conditioning. The Cottage has been very recently renovated and contains a new well-equipped kitchen stocked with basic pantry needs, a substantial breakfast basket and fresh fruit. Chocolates and flowers will greet you on your entry to the Cottage. The bathroom includes a luxury walk-in shower, toilet, handbasin, quality towels and handmade soaps. There is a second toilet off the laundry area. An office area with desk, ergonomic desk chair, lamps and a futon provides a third bedroom (if required). To relax in, you will find a large lounge with stylish and comfortable furniture, tv, books, magazines and board games. The sunroom/dining room has plantation shutters, a perfect spot to sit and read, along with a dining table to seat six. Throughout the Cottage are polished timber floors and high ornate ceilings reminiscent of an elegant era. There is a large private garden filled will native plants and flowers and a gazebo in the old garage containing an outdoor setting and a weber BBQ. This is a cottage to escape to for your time in Rockhampton. You will walk in the front door and feel comfortable, relaxed and welcome. Accommodation is for a minimum of 2 nights up to 3 months. 19.01.2022 It has been a while since I posted. Cottages on The Range are busy and doing really well. We are proud to be a provider for the Rockhampton Regional Council and to have had, as guests this past week, some of the amazing performers at the River Festival. A really great community event held during the best time of year for good weather. We had some visitors from NSW who were dreading returning home to their cold days and colder nights. Cottages on The Range continue to receive ...the highest rated reviews for Rockhampton accommodation through Booking.com and Stayz/HomeAway. Booking.com has received 17 reviews over the past 18 months and we maintain a rating of 10/10. We feel humbled, grateful and proud that guests have had a great experience staying in either or both of the Cottages and are happy to tell others via the booking companies. Thank you to those who have been so generous in your comments. Accommodation bookings are already being made into 2020 for some family and special events. 18.01.2022 Late last year I shared with you the excitement of the purchase of another Cottage on The Range, Rockhampton. Renovations began in February, 2020, and all was going well for a few weeks. Along came Covid-19 to add a little challenge to everything. Absolutely everything! The simple trips, such as a reno-required Bunnings run to a coffee at smoko, became major expeditions into the wilderness. Bookings disappeared overnight and many sad guests rang to cancel their accommodatio...n for holidays, weddings and special events. Life changed almost overnight for all of us. The Kellow Cottage renovations continued albeit with social distancing and staggered visits from tradies. Dust masks were in short supply. Now, rolling towards the end of May, I'm pleased to say I can see the light at the end of the renovation tunnel. It's looking bright and I am excited to declare the Kellow Cottage will be open for business by the 1st July, 2020. 16.01.2022 Easter has come and gone along with that Bunny. It has me fascinated how it manages to stay so slim. Thank goodness for grandchildren. They provide an excellent excuse to over indulge in chocolate at least once a year. In just a few weeks we have Beef Week in Rockhampton. The Cottages on The Range are extra busy. The Beef Week Program is out and bookings for events have taken off. There is competition for which event will have the most international visitors - the Commonwe...alth Games at the Gold Coast or Beef Week in Rockhampton. No... seriously... Beef Week is attracting beef producers and related industry representatives from many countries and we are delighted some are staying with us. 11.01.2022 The Archer Street Cottage accommodates up to 5 people and is located on The Range, Rockhampton. The Cottage contains a master bedroom with a queen bed and TV, a second bedroom with a queen bed, and a third bedroom with a 3/4 bed. The bedrooms and lounge are airconditioned and very comfortable. The Archer Street Cottage is a timber, highset, bungalow style home with high ceilings and T&G walls. It includes some beautiful features, such as stained glass windows, from its early ...days. The Cottage is a one minute walk to the Grammar Schools and five minutes walk to the Base Hospital. Within 15-20 minutes walk is the central business district, Cathedral College, Mater Hospital, Hillcrest Private Hospital, Botanic Gardens, Zoo, Cafe and Rockhampton Golf Course. The Cottage has been very recently renovated and contains a new well-equipped kitchen stocked with basic pantry needs, a breakfast basket and fresh fruit. 09.01.2022 Today Cottages on the Range opened for business the latest Cottage in Kellow Street (between the Base Hospital and the Rockhampton Grammar School). The Kellow Street Cottage is the third elegant Cottage we have on offer for self-contained, short term and holiday accommodation. Our other Cottages are located in Archer Street and Bishop Street, inThe Range, Rockhampton. We are excited to be expanding, even in these tough times, and we are hoping for local community support in our venture. Direct bookings are most welcome as well as bookings through Stayz/Home Away. Maybe we will celebrate tonight after months or renovations and lots of hard work. Cheers!

08.01.2022 The Botanic Gardens are often very favourably commented on by our guests. The Gardens are walking distance, or a short drive, from any of the Cottages. A daily visit for a leisurely walk, excellent food and coffee at the Gardens Tea Rooms and the sheer enjoyment of being amongst the magnificent Gardens, is highly recommended. These upgrades to the walking tracks are excellent news.

07.01.2022 When you stay at one of the Cottages on The Range do find time to explore the region and don't miss a trip to Mt Archer. It really is an amazing view and a photographic delight. Great for bushwalking and great for the kids.

07.01.2022 When you stay at one of our Cottages and you are planning to spoil yourself with something a little special, then please consider a Grazing Box from the Gardens Tearooms. It will match perfectly with a well chosen bottle of wine as you watch the birds and the sunset over the wetlands of the Yeppen Lagoon.

05.01.2022 Happy New Year to all our guests and friends. Your support and patronage during 2019 was hugely appreciated. If we may, we would like to ask for your assistance. We purchased our third Cottage on The Range in December, 2019. Like the Archer Street Cottage and the Bishop Street Cottage, the Kellow Street Cottage requires renovating before we will make it available as holiday and short to medium term accommodation. What we would appreciate hearing from you is an indication of ...the facilities and set-up you have most appreciated when you have stayed at either Archer or Bishop Street Cottages. What must we ensure we 'get right' and include in the new Cottage on The Range? Your feedback will be hugely appreciated. And... for your interest, the new Cottage in Kellow Street is located between the back of the Rockhampton Base Hospital and the back of The Rockhampton Grammar School. Here is a photo of the Kellow Street Cottage, as it stands now. Well, if the truth be told, it is quite a bit more the worse for wear than the photo shows. However, it has great potential and character and we will enjoy making it available for your 'home away from home' in lat February/early March. We'll post some progress photos of the transformation of the Cottage over the next 6 to 8 weeks, hopefully including your recommendations for the renovations. See more
