25.01.2022 From the Archives: Did you know the Aboriginal people who lived on the Cottesloe and the Swan Coastal Plain were a land-owning group called Mooro. They called Cottesloe Beach, Mudurup (Moodoorup). Mudurup means place of the yellow fin whiting. Every December to January the Mooro would come to Mudurup (Cottesloe Beach), a very important ceremonial site, one of the most mystical coastal sites. Melak (salmon), would run then and the Mooro were renowned for their extraordinary... spear fishing skills. They called this birok. Burnoru was another important time of year when Mudurup was frequented between February and March. Gulamwin, the south westerly wind, featured heavily in their way of life, much as it still does. We are blessed to have such a deeply rich and beautiful heritage which is fortunately being preserved and saved, just in a nick of time. Archives is exploring the Indigenous heritage of Cottesloe to add to the growing collection of the Schools history. See more

15.01.2022 The magnificent kindergarten teachers at Cottesloe Primary School provide creative and inspiring learning environments for the students. They have done so for decades and this small sample from a 2002 class shows just a snippet of what these extraordinary teachers engage the children in. Fun and fantastic stuff!! Interesting to have a book with no pictures! That gets the imagination fine tuned. Year after year the kindergarten teachers create a magical and exciting place where the children develop a joy of learning. Thanks kindy teachers!!
