22.01.2022 A message from Masters Swimming Australia to all our members. Update on the continuing impact of COVID-19. With the increasing concerns arising from the spread... of COVID-19, the National Board of Management of Masters Swimming Australia are diligently working together to stay across the latest information at hand. Our primary focus is to protect the health and safety of our members, coaches, technical officials, volunteers and staff. With the ongoing closure of pools across Australia to prevent the spread of the virus, it is becoming increasingly more difficult for our people to manage social distancing and maintain good hygiene while in group training. While the sport of swimming is the livelihood of Masters Swimming Australia, the organisation strongly discourages Clubs from organising ongoing group training for its members until further notice. We have a responsibility to the community and each other to work together to help stop the spread of COVID-19. Masters Swimming Australia will be continuing to provide updates regarding COVID-19 and information in relation to what you can do when you’re not swimming! Our staff will be working from home at intermittent times. If you can’t reach us on the phone, please email us directly or contact [email protected] until further notice. 11.01.2022 Masters Swimming Australia is following closely the information being provided by the Government and health departments of the spread of COVID-19 in our communi...ties and is very conscious of the health of all our members. The National Board is meeting tomorrow (Sunday) to discuss various implications of COVID-19 on our organisation and in particular, its likely impact on the National Championships in Sydney next month. 08.01.2022 Great day racing yesterday at the Miami Masters Meet. Just on 200 competitors. Two of our members raced with some great times Sandy Ryan racing around her first masters meet with our club and our American friend Mirjana Prather smashing records and I believe swimming a 50 Fly time that would rank her Number 1 in the USA in her age group. No official results out yet due to technical problems but thank you Miami Masters Swimming Club for a fantastic day .
08.01.2022 Don’t just sit on the couch! Get some stretches in to benefit your recovery and range of motion.

06.01.2022 The Chandler Arena (at Sleeman Sports Complex) has recorded a confirmed case of COVID-19. The patron attended Chandler Arena on Sunday 26 July and it is underst...ood that access was limited to the Arena and Car Park 2. Venue staff are working with health officials and following all necessary protocols to provide contact information for anyone who was at the venue, who will then be contacted directly by Queensland Health. While transmission to anyone outside Chandler Arena is unlikely, anyone with symptoms of COVID-19 is encouraged to get tested. This advice potentially impacts members of BSM who attended the BSM Training session on Sunday, 26 July 2020 (0815 to 1030). See https://www.sleemansports.com.au/ All BSM training sessions at least to Wednesday, 5 August 2020 at Chandler have been cancelled.
05.01.2022 Backstroke anyone? It may be a good idea!
04.01.2022 #techtips Tech tip #2 Individual Medley:... All strokes must be finished in accordance with the rule for that stroke when turning to the next stroke, ie. Butterfly two hand simultaneous touch; backstroke finish on your back with some part of the body at the surface; breaststroke two hand simultaneous touch.
