25.01.2022 Grubs starting to show up in northern crops, careful monitoring from here on to ensure we spray at economic threshold. @em_ayliffe @HeathMcwhirter @SamORafferty1

25.01.2022 Look at these Field Peas go! Super clean after a good knockdown, pre em and grass spray strategy. The next concern is when they fall over how are we going to pick them. Any suggestions on tips and tricks for good field pea harvest?

24.01.2022 How well do you know your barley diseases? Do you know what these are?? HINT they arent the same.... @HeathMcwhirter @em_ayliffe @SamORafferty1

23.01.2022 YACKER CHALLENGE This week when someone asks you a question you cant answer or you see a great question on Twitter, send them to #YackerApp #Yacker #CreateRealConnections

23.01.2022 Hows this for a disease mix, powdery mildew and stripe rust hanging in. Sprayed with protective fungicide 10 days ago so now to watch then pull up stumps @HeathMcwhirter @em_ayliffe @SamORafferty1

23.01.2022 spy Powdery Mildrew in dryland crops. WHAT THA??? Where canopies are thick and not drying out in the day this pathogen is taking hold. Now its will be perfect conditions as temps warm up to take off. One to watch as springs settles in.

23.01.2022 Powdery mildew is persisting on heavy country and thick crops even in the spring temps. Shouldnt get out of hand under current conditions but definitely one to watch @em_ayliffe @HeathMcwhirter

22.01.2022 #YOPO - our motto is You Only Plant Once! Setting up planters ready for seed to go in the ground likely next week. Ensuring they are set up correctly so that when people start as you need to do it once and do it right! Do you know what the key things to check are? #YOPO

22.01.2022 If you dont measure it you cant manage it! Rule #1 in anything you do. @SamORafferty1 has been busy this week collecting soil samples in preparation for summer crop. After some dry years its important to ground truth whats happening @em_ayliffe @HeathMcwhirter

21.01.2022 Fallow spray in preparation for final tillage passes before planting cotton at Carrathool. Can smell summer coming on! @em_ayliffe @HeathMcwhirter @SamORafferty1

21.01.2022 We have seen some interesting things being said on particularly Twitter lately around some of the negativity of the conversation. Why don't you step away from the keyboard and the chain of words and just have a conversation? #Yacker #YackerApp #CreateRealConnections

19.01.2022 Rice ~ sown into a terminates barley crop is absolutely powering with a flush and warm weather @IRECNSW @em_ayliffe @RiceExtension @houghton_rob50 @HeathMcwhirter @SamORafferty1

19.01.2022 Have downloaded it? Do you like it? If not, why? Or are you just not interested? We’d love to hear from you!

18.01.2022 Day degrees are tracking along nicely with the season so far tracking above last year and the 10 year average! The first 50 DAP are where a lot of things are decided for the season like when the crop will start flowering so it is great to see it tracking so high #cotton21

17.01.2022 Well, we did that pretty well. Urea going into Vittaroi wheat at 200kg/ha before the weekends glorious rain How much did you have?

17.01.2022 We pride ourselves on great relationships and this is one of them!

16.01.2022 LUPINS ~ seeing some funny paddock symptoms. Sclero taking a few plants out. A good problem to have in the wet. @HeathMcwhirter @em_ayliffe @SamORafferty1

16.01.2022 Today we plotted the new #Yacker users over the last few weeks, and weren't we surprised! We are super excited with what we have managed to achieve, if you haven't yet you better join the #YackerApp! http://yacker.com.au #CreateRealConnections

16.01.2022 Our agronomist @em_ayliffe has been having some great conversations lately. A while ago she caught up with Sally Murfet to chat about the ins and outs of language related to succession planning. Check it out https://m.youtube.com/watch?feature=youtu.be&v=1CYqLs1g20s

15.01.2022 Linseed flowers! Watching these guys start flowering now we watch for helis in the pods. @HeathMcwhirter @SamORafferty1 @em_ayliffe

14.01.2022 Not long now until this popcorn makes its way to a cinema near you! @em_ayliffe @SamORafferty1 @HeathMcwhirter @bromeo82

14.01.2022 Ahhh disease. This barley crop got a fungicide when we went over it earlier (before flag emergence) and we are just starting to see some discolouration on the flag leaf. We dont have a spray to go on and the barley is flowering so it is a monitor for these crops.

13.01.2022 Rice is going absolutely gang busters! Root development is great, past the point of blood worm being a pain. Earth worms have made themselves at home here though. @em_ayliffe @em_ayliffe @SamORafferty1 @bromeo82

12.01.2022 Almonds are pink and starting to flower indicating spring isnt far away, & also the ! As we move into pollination periods & temps warm up its important to consider hives when spraying insects in other crops. A great tool is the BeeConnected App https://beeaware.org.au/pollination/beeconnected/

11.01.2022 Smut. Even turns up in treated seed. Know your risk. #questionoftheday @HeathMcwhirter @em_ayliffe @SamORafferty1

11.01.2022 @SamORafferty1 Punching a few cores into next years summer crop field, fertiliser going in in April in a second hill up pass so they’re ready to come end or September.

11.01.2022 It is always cool to see varieties next to each other. Left here is planet barley, right is Spartacus, can pick the line in the paddock still

11.01.2022 Canola Podding up beautiful. About to get a drink before the heat on Tuesday and well see how hard we can push it. @HeathMcwhirter @em_ayliffe @SamORafferty1

10.01.2022 Busy assessing cereal crops for frost damage as critical decisions around hay needs to be made in the next 10ish days for early crops before the crop gets too mature. @em_ayliffe @HeathMcwhirter @SamORafferty1

10.01.2022 The end is near. Crops now 3NAWF and 24 nodes and most paddocks with just 2 waters to go! End of season pests to monitor and getting ready for first defoliations end of March/first week of April @HeathMcwhirter @SamORafferty1 @bromeo82 @em_ayliffe

09.01.2022 Lupins are powering away with rain and warm weather! These Albus Luxor are putting up their flowers. Some early flowers have been frosted but they will just keep pushing out flowers. Monitoring for insects will begin soon and with such a green bridge we are expecting them!

08.01.2022 Ellison in right. Beckom left. Differences in the crop still very noticeable. Question is which one will yield better? @HeathMcwhirter @SamORafferty1 @em_ayliffe

07.01.2022 Wind and hard setting soils are seeing some serious damage in the chickpeas busting branches off.

06.01.2022 It doesn’t rain, it pours! Got a bit wet in the trials yesterday with a 50mm rain event coming down south of Griffith, how much rain did you have? @SamORafferty1 @HeathMcwhirter @bromeo82 @em_ayliffe

06.01.2022 Seeing some funny things happening in chickpeas were it seems the seed wants to just keep germinating. This is what happens when a robust rate of Lontrel is applied the year before in the cereal crops and good rain meaning we put chickies where we werent sure we were going too.

05.01.2022 Barley scald isnt slowing down. Key is to understand where the yield in crops come from and protect those areas. While we have lost some lower leaves the money leaves are protected.

05.01.2022 Wet? How good is it! Sick of sitting in the office with your own thoughts? Why don't you join the conversation on #Yacker today? #CreateRealConnections

05.01.2022 This week we hit 250 users if you havent already, check out why we have built yacker and join us for the convo!!!

04.01.2022 The depth of furrow is a critical consideration when pulling up hills. U want them small enough that they sub when watered up but tall enough to minimise water logging. This syphon field with redder soil we are happy at 25cm pre roll, heavy country & bank less ideally want 30cm +

04.01.2022 How can you leverage the #YackerApp to get the most out of it? #CreateRealConnections

04.01.2022 Fresh from the field @SamORafferty1 #Cotton21 #thisisteamsummit

03.01.2022 Another day, another planter set up on our mission for YOPO @SamORafferty1 @HeathMcwhirter @em_ayliffe

03.01.2022 Today team summit headed over to the DPI to have a walk through the cereal disease plots. Discussions today the to managing disease is know your risk, esp variety, monitor your crop and chemistry selection is only half the battle, just doing something is better then nothing!

03.01.2022 Boll Rot ~ with overcast, wet and cool conditions we are starting to see low levels of boll rot. Typically incidence remains under 5% but wet, cool weather or overhead irrigation can increase the risk. @CottonInfoAust

02.01.2022 Another week of interesting things to talk about. Is there a question that you want answered or a problem you would like to chew the fat about? Why not join us on #YackerApp and solve some problems? #CreateRealConnections

01.01.2022 Looks at these guys go! Chickpeas sown early pushing out the first flowers. 40mm of rain on them so far this month and looking at another fungicide. for a kind spring @em_ayliffe @HeathMcwhirter @SamORafferty1

01.01.2022 Final field prep for summer crops in full swing! For some of our growers it will be the first crop in 3 years & the excitement is real. Tidying up some furrows before a shower of rain end of the week & planting fast approaching @HeathMcwhirter @em_ayliffe @SamORafferty1

01.01.2022 How good is a wet winter! It is bringing with it disease. Stripe rust here found in condo wheat in the headlands where its thick. What are your varieties disease ratings? When was the last time you got into the crop?
