24.01.2022 Good Afternoon Everyone.!! YOU ONLY GET ONE CHANCE AT CREATING A POSITIVE FIRST IMPRESSION..... Without doubt one of my personally favourite Council projects currently underway is the Sensational Adelaide Road Linear Park, and today I walked along to view the dramatic improvements made to Stage 4 of this Park, whilst also paying my respects at the Very Important SA Truck Drivers Memorial..... DPTI advise that @13,000 vehicles traverse this Road every day and when you recall they had to view the previous (Pine post, rocks and scrub) eyesore that this Area was for many years - it is clear that this Landscaping lifts the amenity of the whole Entrance for everyone to enjoy for years to come..!!! You can really see and enjoy the whole walking/bike path part coming together, the extensive lawned areas -and the Beautiful Plants are growing steadily, I personally believe this Park will be a Family Favourite ( if it isn’t already....) Make sure you walk/ride along it soon..
22.01.2022 Hi All, A Reminder that Bridge Street is closed to traffic today until 12pm for the Tour Down Under Women’s Race Start (which starts at 10am)...!! On such a magnificent morning ,Why not have a look and enjoy a warm cup of coffee and/or Breakfast at one of our Wonderful Local Cafe’s and at the Community Breakfast in Sixth Street.???

17.01.2022 Good morning Everyone.!! Well done Rural City of Murray Bridge Christmas Lights Enthusiasts.!! Over the last few nights I have been kept very busy inspecting and judging the Fantastic entries in my/our/your inaugural Christmas Lights Competition- and I’ve got to say the Imagination and Creativity on display is simply outstanding .!! ... This is going to be a very tough Competition to decide Finalists, they’re all so Sensational..!! What is particularly noticeable is the sheer amount of Stunning Displays that haven’t entered the Competition at all- there are some very Inspirational Lighting set ups all across the RCMB, including our Outer Communities as well.. Do yourself a favour and check them all out on most nights (usually between 8.30-10.30/11pm)...
15.01.2022 Hi All, The Southside Village Shopping Centre on Swanport Road, Murray Bridge is no more..!! Like many of you - I vaguely remember when it was built around 1980/81..... This site will now become an OTR Service Station.
15.01.2022 Hi All, Today I visited the new and improved Z-Path which leads up to the Roundhouse from our Beautiful Riverfront- this project took quite a bit longer than expected due to a number of challenges, however the end result is now safe and stable!! Next I viewed progress at the New upcoming War Memorial which promises to be a remarkably poignant Tribute Structure in a Stunning Location...(Construction ETA- approx June 30,2020)... Nearby is also more early construction work on the Sturt Reserve Rowing Facility which will no doubt be an Amazing addition to our prominent Riverfront precinct.. (Construction ETA- approx November 2020)

Today’s sunny and cool beginning was the perfect morning to inspect the newly installed Pedestrian Access Point at Long Island Reserve which connects to the walking trail that goes through to Sturt Reserve - it’s the perfect avenue to view our utterly Stunning River Murray and Wildlife !!... Be sure to take a look and walk along this Enchanting Area soon.. Also, check out the Walkingsa.org.au website for further info on many other walks,hikes or bush walks within our Beautiful State..!!
11.01.2022 Yesterday I inspected the new LED Street Light installation work at the intersection of Karoonda Highway and Princes Highway. This is a fantastic collaborative Community result by RCMB and DPTI which will significantly improve the vehicle safety at a major junction within our region.!!
10.01.2022 Good afternoon Everyone, Back in January 2019 I raised a motion concerning poor Street lighting on Monash Terrace, the wording was as follows; (I move) That Council receives a report on the feasibility of increasing/improving the Street lighting outside Murray Bridge Soldiers Memorial Hospital Carpark on Monash Terrace. In my view this area would benefit greatly from extra/improved street lights in order to increase pedestrian, vehicle and general public safety.... This motion was resolved (supported) by Councillors in a vote at the time and Admin began liaising with SA Power Networks to undertake investigation work and provide a detailed design to upgrade the lighting along Monash Terrace, adjacent the Murray Bridge Soldiers Memorial Hospital Carpark. In late 2019, Council received the proposed lighting design from SAPN, which included improvement to Swanport Road, the Swanport/Monash roundabout and Monash Terrace from Swanport Road down to Joyce Street. I am pleased to advise that after further discussions this proposal includes the upgrade or installation of 13 new luminaries (light fittings) required to meet Australian Standards Lighting Design AS1158..!!! This important safety improvement is scheduled to occur over the next few months.. On another note you may have noticed that 2 new Electric Vehicle chargers are being installed now behind the Marketplace on Mary Terrace..

09.01.2022 Hi All, I hope you are all ok in these extraordinary times, it is paramount that we realise we are All in this Together. Remember, After the Storm comes the Rainbow.., We will get through this together..... With that in mind a quick Councillor update may be interesting and useful- there is a lot going on and the upcoming Years will be very interesting indeed in our Community I am pleased to say that Three of my motions (that were majority supported by my fellow Elected Members..) so far this year in Council have been; - Two days Quarterly ( 8 days Annually total) free/ no Charge Green Waste drop off days at Brinkley Waste Depot ( February’s meeting) - Updated feasibility report on a Community rotunda, possibly at Diamond Park or maybe even somewhere near the Riverfront...?? (March meeting) - Creation and facilitating of a Council Covid19. financial hardship policy including consideration of rating. (April Meeting , last Monday night) Also, next week there will be 2 new murals painted down on Seventh Street (Ray White wall and Murray Nankivell wall) - Pls see pics below for details .. In these current crazy and topsy Turvy times It is very interesting to inspect the steady Construction progress of the numerous sensational Building Projects currently underway in and near Murray Bridge... These are just some of them...!!! One of the last pics is a concept plan view of the upcoming new Sturt Reserve Boatramp planned for later this year...

This fine morning I visited Sturt Reserve to inspect the SlipnDip attraction and Beach area on the lawn out front of the Bunyip..!! These Attractions officially mark the beginning of the Month long SPLASH Festival along Sturt Reserve.. Also the inaugural Official Murray Bridge NYE Fireworks will be launched from the Road Bridge (which will obviously be closed from 8.30-10.30pm tonight...)

The Fantastic Sixth Street Handmade Makers Market/ Blues,Brews & BBQs Event is on again this Saturday 23rd November, between 10am-3pm..!!... A Family Friendly Event with plenty of possible Christmas Presents for sale.. Featuring Artisans and their wares, Musicians, a Petting Zoo, and heaps of fun for the kids.!! Also in the Markets backyard (in the lower Carpark) - a pop up bar, wood fires BBQs and Country and Blues music by Max Savage..!!. See you there..
