25.01.2022 Thanks for being so thoughtful Jeni, they truly are the Best Sausage Rolls in the World.

25.01.2022 When Severe Tropical Cyclone Debbie hit the Whitsunday region we vowed to work closely with the community to help it recover. This week I announced we will put ...in an extra $8 million towards the new $19 million Proserpine Entertainment Centre, bringing our investment in this vital infrastructure project to $13.7 million. The new state-of-the-art centre, which will create 50 jobs during construction and more once operational, will include conference facilities, an auditorium, cafe, bar, kitchen and new cenotaph. Key infrastructure projects like these in Queensland will create jobs, support tourism business and economic growth in the region as we recover from global pandemic. #qldjobs

23.01.2022 The Burdekin Falls Dam is finally full with water now flowing over the spillway. The dam is now at 102.7 per cent capacity as of this morning’s data. Motorists... who use the Burdekin Falls Dam Road between Ravenswood, Mount Coolon and Collinsville are informed that the road will be closed indefinitely due to the flooding of the Burdekin Falls Dam. 22.01.2022 I took the opportunity yesterday evening to cast my vote. With these uncertain times I think it is important to have your say and I can ensure you that the staff at the polling booths are taking precautions to protect us all. Every second booth has been taped so "social distancing" is maintained as well as regular wipes of the pencils, if you decide to use their's instead of taking your own.

22.01.2022 https://prodresults.elections.qld.gov.au/lga20//councillor The result for Division 5 has now been declared. I consider it an honour and will do my best over the coming four years to represent the people of Division 5. It has certainly been an interesting month or so from the start of the pre-polling to the declaration. ... I would especially like to thank the people who took the time to hand out material at the pre-polling booths during the first week, as well as everyone who either offered or agreed to have corflutes erected at their place. Your assistance has been especially appreciated.

15.01.2022 Due to Covid-19 and the new directives from ECQ halting all canvassing and attendances at pre-polling and polling booths, I will be live at 5.00pm this afternoon for any questions you may have to ask me. If you're not available then, please feel free to send me a question via PM or comment on this post.

14.01.2022 For those of you who might be looking for a job.

14.01.2022 If you are wondering which division you are now in after last years boundary changes you can follow this link. https://www.ecq.qld.gov.au//where-is-my-electorate/location

11.01.2022 Once again I urge those who haven't yet voted to do so during this pre-polling period to limit contact with others. There is a confirmed case of Covid-19 in the Proserpine Hospital. Please practice social distancing and washing your hands with soap and water are two of the ways to help fight the spread of the virus. Below is a link to the Queensland Health website with more information on how to protect ourselves and others. Stay safe!!... https://www.qld.gov.au//conditions/he/coronavirus-covid-19

10.01.2022 Tonight is the last night the polling booths are open until 9.00pm, tomorrow they close at 6.00pm, both days opening at 9.00am. If you haven't voted yet, please consider doing so either today or tomorrow during the pre-polling period to decrease the crowds on Saturday. What we are currently experiencing is unprecedented and our best hope is to "flatten the curve" which means lessening our contact with others.

09.01.2022 Feel free to ask questions and we'll put them to Gary.

08.01.2022 Queensland is one step closer to becoming the aquaculture capital of the world, with Tassal Tasmanian Salmon's Gregory River Prawn Farm expansion and a proposal... for a new prawn farm at Exmoor Station These facilities are expected to create almost 1,000 Queensland jobs and support local businesses in the Mackay-Whitsundays region. We’ve gone heavily to use local civil contracting firms, local fabricators, local electricians. And that means that the dollars stay here in Queensland and with the locals. This is a fantastic thing here for regional Queensland. - Ben Daley, Tassal Group We support job-creating projects as part of our plan for economic recovery. #qldjobs #prawns

07.01.2022 Had an interesting and informative drive around the northern part of Division 5 this morning. It's all looking so green and lush at the moment with some stunning views out over Edgecumbe Bay both towards Bowen Harbour and Gloucester Island. Thank you to Peter & Miho Bailey for allowing me to put up a corflute in their yard at Whitsunday Shores.
