24.01.2022 Final stop - Braidwood Blazeaid Camp And what a way to end a great day, meeting extraordinary people who have done extraordinary things. +240km of fencing one of many extraordinary achievements by the Braidwood Blazeaid camp.... Today marks the end of the camp where Denis & Carol, the Team Leaders & all the volunteers have supported those in our communities who have been devastated & hardest hit by the black summer fires. 21.01.2022 Something very much to look forward to with a return to normal. Having received many enquiries, I’m pleased to be advised the Queanbeyan Cinema Complex Moriss...et St under private development is continuing to progress. The Proponent, Architects, Engineers and Consultants have been hard at work addressing structural upgrading, design and project coordination to meet the requirements of both KMart and United Cinemas. This has and continues to involve a substantial body of work, with the Proponent aiming for Design and Documentation completion for Construction Tender around mid-year.

Was also great to meet Fr. Lakovos (Jacob) Syriotis who comes to the parish after the well desired retirement of Fr Kostakos. 12.01.2022 At last nights Ordinary Meeting of Council I put up a notice of motion to: That Council: 1. Waive ground hire, outdoor court hire and sports field lighting costs for all QPRC based sporting clubs and associations for the period 1 July 2020 31 December 2020... 2. Reassess the ongoing impacts of COVID-19 on sporting clubs that hire council sports grounds and outdoor courts at the December 2020 Ordinary Meeting. Am very proud to be part of a Council that carried the motion unanimously. The financial impacts of COVID-19 to our community has and will continue to have detrimental effects, in particular our health and wellbeing. Ensuring our grassroots sports continue to be financially viable is just another piece of this complicated puzzle.
11.01.2022 At our Council meeting last night, my motion to recognise Peter Bray’s service & contribution with a plaque in the Qbn Honour Walk, Crawford St & that the proposed Agnes Ave community park to adjoin the proposed Respite Care Centre be named the Peter Bray Park, was supported.
10.01.2022 Am truly humbled to be elected Deputy Mayor of the Queanbeyan-Palerang Regional Council for the next 12 months by the majority of my peers. Extend my sincere gratitude to outgoing Deputy Mayor Cr Trudy Taylor for her work not only over the last 12 months but past 14 odd yrs. It goes without saying am thankful for the support from Mayor Tim Overall and Mayoress Nichole Overall not only tremendous leaders in our community but very proud to call them dear friends. Look forward... to working as the Mayors Deputy. Finally there has been no better Deputy Mayor than the late Peter Bray AM. I hope I won’t let him down. Thank you to my wonderful wife Kiera Biscotti friends and family who continue to support my work.
