14.01.2022 Since 2013, local not-for-profit Tryact Inc - Two Rocks Yanchep Assisted Cancer Travels has provided transport services for local residents with cancer who need... help travelling to and from appointments. With most of its volunteers aged over 70 and deemed most at-risk from the effects of COVID-19, TRYACT President Sue Dash said the organisation suddenly found itself short-staffed earlier this year. Serving as a minibus driver twice a week for local community groups and seniors with somewhere to be since 2015, local resident and regular City of Wanneroo volunteer Eric (pictured) said he immediately put up his hand to help out when asked. From the get-go, Eric hit it off with his first fare, learning that they were even born on the same day, of the same month, of the same year. What are the chances of that," he laughed. "On the way back from our first hospital trip, we decided to stop off and buy a lottery ticket that we would share the winnings from we didnt win anything though! I really enjoy volunteering it keeps me busy and you meet all these terrific people. It is rewarding to help others, particularly in todays world where were fortunate to have our health. #NVW2020 Volunteering WA

Water Corporation enforces the winter sprin...kler ban, which means reticulations must be switched off, including on your normal scheduled days. During winter, due to lower evaporation, plant growth usually being dormant, higher rainfall, less hours of sunlight and cooler temperatures, plants do not need their usual sprinkler watering. 10.01.2022 The widening of Marmion Ave to Yanchep is nearing completion! This has been a long fought project to get commitment for - back in 2016, my daughter Althe...a led a community petition to the City of Wanneroo. Since then I have driven the need for prioritisation of the project - with the initial contract awarded by the City of Wanneroo to dual Marmion through Butler and Jindalee in 2016. The project has been finally able to be fully completed by the City of Wanneroo - which will result in a dual carriageway from Yanchep Beach Rd to Karrinyup Rd. I visited the site today with my daughter to see the final stages of construction unfolding. For further updates https://bit.ly/2z4hCq4
