24.01.2022 The Goodies op shop, located at the Clayton Church, is reopening on 1 June! It has a good range of vintage and new items for you to explore, as well as exciting new sections. They have also have filled the temporarily empty Hopes Caf with an amazing range of summer stock, which will all be half price. Goodies has always been a major financial support for our community and much of their energies will be focussed on helping our community bounce back financially from the loc...kdown. You can help by shopping at Goodies, donating your good quality unwanted items which are now being accepted, and spreading the word! 24.01.2022 Adelaide is losing its significant trees at an alarming rate, and its past time to act. Weve been working in a powerful coalition of community and environment... groups on a major report on the state of Adelaides trees. Visit conservationsa.org.au/trees2020 to view or download the full report. Too many mature trees are being removed for public infrastructure projects and private developments, and planting new trees is not enough. We must also stop the loss of mature trees across our suburbs if we have any chance of increasing our urban canopy cover. #AdelaideNeedsTrees Conservation SA Trees For Life (SA) National Trust of South Australia Nature Conservation Society of South Australia TREENET Australian Institute of Landscape Architects - AILA

18.01.2022 As you know we often use our front fence on the corner of the Parade and Portrush to inspire or show our care. Help us out....what words do you think would help during this time? What quote or words should be on our front fence?

18.01.2022 Oye Oye Oye! I learned a great tip from Australia Day Ambassador Michele Lally this morning - to keep flies away at your picnic, place a few lemons with lots of cloves inserted and youll be right mate! A big congratulations to Les Dennis for winning Citizen of the Year this morning, well deserved for his volunteer work with Second Chances SA amongst many other organisations. And a big welcome to our new citizens! Steven Marshall Second Chances SA

17.01.2022 Perhaps funding for the Magill Road intersection can be diverted to a tunnel for South Rd?

15.01.2022 I am shocked that Regulation 119 of the Planning Act was varied under the radar, which allows the Government to withdraw funds from the Planning & Development Fund to pay for what must be, cost over-runs relating to the planning reforms. The fund is largely financed by a levy on developers and was meant to be used for open space or public realm infrastructure, not for the "planning website, database or online search facility". Open space is scarce enough in our city. Plenty more support is needed for public infrastructure that encourages time outdoors and community connectedness. I believe it is disingenuous for these funds to be used for anything else. Write to your MP if you agree.

14.01.2022 St Josephs is having a book sale - see you there! (High Street, Kensington)

08.01.2022 Do you want to see helicopters in historic Kensington or over The Parade? Have your say on the proposed helipad for the Peregrine office tower by 13 March. To learn more, attend an information session on 18 February. To view the Public Environmental Report, fact sheet and submission form go to the website below. A hard copy of the report is available at the Council office for viewing. You may remember that the State Government gave this office building major development sta...tus back in 2017 which bypassed local planning authorities. This provision used to be reserved for state-wide projects of importance such as ports or mines.
