15.01.2022 DUKE OF EDINBURGH AWARD 2021! After a very disrupted 2020, HHHS is back on track for the Duke of Edinburgh Award program, which is co-organised by the school... and the P&C! This year we have 4 Year 11 students participating in the rigorous and prestigious Gold Award Program: From left to right: Anais Hazel, Alex Strassberg, Eleanor Crompton & Maggie Dowd. They are supervised by Gold Award Leader and P&C parent volunteer Mishele Cavanagh-Downs! Mr McAlpine organises the Bronze Award program, which commences as a "winter sport" in Term 2! Mr McAlpine will be issuing advice very shortly, and holding an information evening for interested families in Years 9 & 10 in the next few weeks. The Bronze Award program usually starts in Year 9, but last year due to Covid, this was unable to start up. Year 10 students can easily complete their Bronze Award this year and undertake the Gold Award in Year 11 if they want to - they haven't missed out. Finally, P&C parent volunteer Simone Concha will this year be assisting Mr McAlpine and the teaching staff in supervising the Bronze Award hikes for Years 9 & 10. Thank you Simone! The P&C continues to strengthen the partnership with the school staff - working together to deliver opportunities for our students. https://dukeofed.com.au/

06.01.2022 Today the first #COVID19 vaccine has been approved for use in Australia under the rigorous processes of our world-class independent safety regulator, the Therap...eutics Goods Administration (TGA). This is an important step in our fight against this terrible virus. Our own experts have found the Pfizer vaccine to be safe, effective and to a high standard. Australia is one of the first countries to have gone through a thorough and comprehensive process to ensure the approval of the vaccine. It is not an emergency approval. The Government’s latest advice remains that the first doses of Pfizer are expected to arrive and be rolled out in late February in Australia. Read more at: http://aus.pm/rwa8
