18.01.2022 Boundaries what’s okay and what’s not okay Reliability - you do what you say you’ll do Accountability - you own your mistakes, apologize, and make amends Vault - you don’t share information or experiences that are not yours to share Integrity - doing what is right...even if it is not fun, fast, or easy... Nonjudgment - I can ask for what I need, and you can ask for what you need. We can talk about how we feel without judgment. Generosity - we do our best to be generous with our thoughts toward others See more

16.01.2022 This analogy is not only relevant to COVID but to life in general. We all have unique life experiences and perceptions which may effect our resilience, life strategies, and tools that we learn to manage difficulties. Be mindful of this when witnessing your and others reactions to life.

14.01.2022 When on the topic of phycological trauma, the terms, "Flight, Fright, and Freeze" are often mentioned in describing central nervous system reactions to triggers which awaken trauma responses. These responses are evolutionary, natural reactions to stimuli which triggers the need to protect ourselves from danger and can be seen throughout the animal kingdom. Here is an example of a squirrel first displaying freeze and then flight.

07.01.2022 Unfortunately, due to ongoing heart health issues, I can no longer work with one to one clients with complex and loaded lifestyle and mental health issues. I am, however, continuing to hold group Creative Art Therapy on a weekly basis and have recently completed my Training and Assessment Qualification. I plan to offer workshops in Trauma Informed Practice for businesses and individuals wishing to learn more about the language of trauma, supporting others and self, listening ...to the body, and how to connect in a safe and engaging manner. Thanks for you ongoing support Live your Bliss Mairead

01.01.2022 This story is a wonderful insight into how ANYONE might find their lives affected by addictive behaviour. Forget about blame and shame and focus on the recovery needs for all individuals. If you have undertaken mediation and counselling and leaving a relationship is the healthiest decision, then that might be what needs to happen to undertake steps to recovery. The relationship and healthy boundaries may be rebuilt when all parties are in a healthier state.

01.01.2022 Although symptoms of Depression have commonalities for many, the experience is different for everyone. An important self care factor is awareness of your self or others. If you notice that you or a friend no longer find joy or vitality in things that would typically enrich your life for greater than two weeks, it may be advisable to book yourself in for a physical check up with your doctor to rule out organic illness. Sharing your experience with a counsellor may open up the stuckness of life, offering release and new perspectives.
