The field of psy...chology has labeled these learned behaviors as disorders, or mental illness for decades. Human beings are not disordered. The root of mental illness is trauma. When we have dysregulated nervous systems from this trauma, the world becomes unsafe. And we engage in behaviors that are typically called symptoms that show our lack of internal safety + security.
