20.01.2022 Take care at this time to reach out for support. Connection and sharing the load is key to helping relieve stress. We are all here and in this together. You don't have do it alone. https://counsellingonthecoast.com.au/symptoms-of-stress/

20.01.2022 What is Stress? Stress is an expected human response to challenging or dangerous situations. Stress is often described as a feeling of being overloaded, wound up tight, tense and worried. Experiencing stress is part of being alive. It can sometimes help to motivate us to get a task finished, through increasing our alertness, energy and productivity. Stress for long periods of time however can be harmful to both the body and mind. Becoming over-stressed can interfere with our ...ability to get on with our normal life. When we face a stressful event, our bodies respond by activating the nervous systems ‘fight or flight’ response. The body does this by releasing hormones such as adrenalin and cortisol and these hormones increase our heart rate, breathing, blood pressure, metabolism and muscle tension. This works well for short-term threats but if the stress response goes on for too long and becomes greater than our ability to cope, it can lead to physical and mental health issues and cause problems with relationships and work. 09.01.2022 What we can do to manage Anxiety. To manage your anxiety you can learn to value your emotional experience, by staying in the present moment, that is you learn to build awareness around your anxiety, know when your feeling anxious and begin to take care of it. We call this building Fear fitness: Welcoming, allowing and staying with your fears. Learning to stay with our difficult emotions. We do this by slowing down and breathing deeply and do things that soothes these feeling...s rather than exacerbates. Learning to embrace and be with all emotions pleasant and not pleasant is the key to emotional health. Labelling emotions: putting your fears into words Name it to tame it. Accepting your fears right now I am feeling anxious, it feels like. Identifying whether your emotions are about past, present or future. You will find that anxiety is usually about the future. Maintain a healthy lifestyle keep active, eat well, go into nature, spend time with family and friends and reach out to others. Be kind to yourself remember that you are not weak, you are not inferior lots of people experience anxiety. If you have trouble managing your anxiety you may need psychological treatment and/or medical treatment.
