23.01.2022 Hi, I’m Kate Hollingsworth. I’m an accredited mental health social worker who specialises in counselling and psychotherapy. In other words, I’m someone who’s good at listening to others, at helping people to negotiate life’s challenges, and at helping them find the answers that are right for them. I am passionate about supporting people to follow a path in life that’s meaningful to them. My expertise lies in empowering people to develop the skills, knowledge and experiences needed for change. My practice is non-judgmental, strengths-based and honours that people are the experts of their own lives. One thing I know from 10 years as a counsellor is that no matter how hopeless things seem, there is always room for things to get better.

04.01.2022 Today I learnt that in the USA (in 2014) the average age of people being diagnosed with ADHD was 31. And more adults are being treated for ADHD than children. This certainly challenges common beliefs.
01.01.2022 This is a great article. I often get clients who want help with rising above their difficult emotions and not being affected by them. They strive for this detachment and think that being affected by difficult emotions is a human failing. The thing is, these emotions are an important part of life and not disturbances to be bypassed.
