07.01.2022 Have you ever wanted to do something really badly, but chickened out at the last moment in case you might fail? I can say as an entertainer, that this has happ...ened to me a few times now... and each time I said 'no"... I have regretted because it could have led to the most incredible experiences of my life. However, I am super proud to say, even when I had huge fear around some auditions and opportunities that came my way.... I heard myself saying YES out loud, even when my mind was screaming NOOOOOOO.... out of fear! I felt the fear and DID it anyway. And I have not regretted any of those moments at all! In this picture, it was one of those moments. I nearly didn't show up to the audition, because I was fearful of being turned down and I really really wanted the job on Channel 7's All Together Now as a Voice Coach and Judge. However, when I said YES - I pulled out all the stops and rehearsed the audition over and over again in my mind to stay calm and focused on giving a great performance. It was one of those rare auditions that I felt like I truly nailed it... which in turn landed me the job and gave me about 6 weeks of filming on set in Fox Studios with TV star Julia Zamiro and Pop Star Ronan Keating. Imagine if I had said NO and listened to that negative gremlin on my shoulder shouting at me to run away! So be brave - bite the bullet and GO FOR GOLD! 03.01.2022 What does it mean when a women says, "I'm fine!"? This is a Q I posted last week as I was interested in what you all thought. I loved all your responses to thi...s post especially those who responded, "run" - so good! It was interesting to read how we all perceive things and was great to read how we are all so different - which is beautiful. Now, if I may, I'd like to share what it means to me. I'll start by saying, this is from my experience and what I say isn't a judgement on your experience. Plus.. this isn't an attack on men, I love men! Now.... As a woman I have needs. One of the most important needs for me is .....to FEEL UNDERSTOOD. So what exactly do I mean? I would like you to listen. But not to listen to respond. To really listen to what I am sharing with you. The challenge for you is to listen... .... even when I am really confused, .... even when I'm crying my eyes out over a problem I am trying to solve, .... even when I have been complaining about the same thing the entire week. I just want you to listen. Now, I know you are a KING at solving problems. I know this about you. I value it within you. I know that when I have a problem that needs solving I will ask you directly. Why? Because I know that you'll have a 6 part strategy that will solve all my problems and probably even the worlds problems. I love that about you. But, when I am sharing something with you, all I need in that moment is for you to listen. Unless I directly ask for your help, I don't want you to solve my problems. The biggest gift you can give me is to listen and validate how I feel. You show me this by not interrupting and maybe if I am a lucky girl you'll give me a hug and tell me "you've got this." So, if I say to you, "I'm fine." It means, you don't understand me. It means, I don't feel you are listening. In that moment, I didn't feel seen or heard. His body was so stressed and exhausted from playing the role that he had to have 2 open heart surgeries after the production! The crucifixion scene alone took 5 weeks of the 2-month filming time. The Passion of the Christ is the highest-grossing rated-R movie in the US, of all time, at $370.8M! Worldwide it grossed $611M. Most importantly, it reached many souls around the world. Mel Gibson paid $30M out of his own pocket for the production because no studio would take on the project, and Jim Caviezel was warned not to take the role of Jesus because it would ruin his career. Today is Jim Caviezels birthday, and hes 51 years old. He proudly proclaims his faith in Christ amidst the godlessness of Hollywood. Thank God for people like him who will step out to do what might not sound fun, but it gets out the Word of God and the story of His salvation of mankind. Happy birthday, Jim Caviezel!
