21.01.2022 In the lead up to our local branch International country of study day on the 24th of August, we thought we would start sharing some interesting and fun facts about Poland. Enjoy The Polish language is (very) difficult It’s hard to understand even one Polish word, right?... Don’t worry! The Polish language is so complicated, that even Polish people have many problems to speak and write 100% correctly. How is it possible? The Polish language uses seven cases what gives very complex grammar. It has also very difficult pronunciation and many exceptions to every one rule. Spelling is another problem as sometimes there are two characters that indicate the same sound. The Polish language is a crazy creation of verb conjugation and noun inflexion. Remember! The same word in few sentences can take a different form depending on the number (singular or plural), cases and gender. https://discovercracow.com/blog/poland-facts/

04.01.2022 Hi All, I hope you are all hanging in there as the drought worsens. Please remember to check in with your neighbours and ask them if they are ok. Below is some information regarding CWA drought relief funds, how you can apply, and also some information on rural financial counselling. Visit www.cwaofnsw.org.au for more information. If you need any help navigating the page, or would like us to email the application forms, please pm the page. #countrywomenunitingforfarmers CWA ...of NSW Drought Aid Applications CWA of NSW’s Disaster Relief Committee recently released an initial $100,000 from the Disaster Relief Fund to help farm families in NSW struggling with worsening drought conditions. This is being used for Drought Aid grants of up to $3000 to cover groceries, vehicle maintenance, school expenses, household bills and medical costs. At the time of writing, that initial allocation has been exhausted, however the CWA of NSW have been able to continue with these grants as we have been receiving donations from CWA branches, the public and large donations such as the recent $50,000 from the National Australia Bank. $300,000 from Dick Smith Foods donation will also be immediately released for the Drought Aid grants in NSW. In addition, $300,000 was also allocated to Queensland CWA to distribute to farmers in need. The use of the remainder ($400 000) of the donation, is still under active discussion and consideration via a committee convened by CWA of A and containing representatives from every CWA state and territory across Australia and in line with the wishes of Dick Smith Foods. Individuals can make a Tax-Deducible donation to the CWA of NSW Disaster Relief Fund online at www.cwaofnsw.org.au/donate Those affected by drought If branches receive requests from those in need, they can be directed to our website www.cwaofnsw.org.au/droughtaid where they can apply online or using the paper form, ensuring they have carefully read the criteria. Branches can also direct farmers who contact them to their local Rural Financial Counselling Service (RFCS). This is a free and confidential service that provides information and assistance on financial position, budgets and submitting applications
