20.01.2022 SA Country Basketball are deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Chelsea Masclet. Chelsea represented SA Country at 2 National Championships and at multiple... development tournaments. Chelsea always represented SA Country with great distinction. Throughout her time in the program, she was a fantastic leader and the best teammate you could ask for. More importantly than that, off the court Chelsea was one of those rare people that left a lasting impression on everyone she came into contact with. With her contagious smile, positivity and caring personality it was impossible to be in the same room as her and not let her happiness rub off on you. Our heartfelt condolences to the Masclet family, the Broken Hill community, and the wider SA Country Basketball community.

20.01.2022 Congratulations to ACJBC Life Member Sharon Venn, Award of Merit recipients Peter Seebohm and Graeme Stringer who tonight were presented with SA Country Basketball Life Membership. Well deserved.

19.01.2022 The Australian Country Junior Basketball Cup will not be held next year - in a huge blow to our region.

14.01.2022 It is with much regret that the Directors of the Country Cup announced yesterday that due to the ongoing travel restrictions put in place by the Australian and NZ Governments that the NZ Tour to the Mel Young Easter Classic has been cancelled. We share the disappointment of everyone involved with the Tour but the health and safety of all is paramount in our decision making. We also understand the disappointment of parents who had booked to come to NZ as well, some of which were staying on after the tournament. We urge everyone to stay safe, heed the medical advice to stop the spread of the virus and look after each other in these difficult times. Hopefully we will able to provide the opportunity for players and officials to attend next year.

12.01.2022 Hi Everyone As a result of three of our major participation groups advising that because of the ongoing Covid-18 situation they are unable to nominate teams for the 2021 Country Cup the Cup Directors have come to the inevitable conclusion that the event is now unviable and as a consequence reluctantly advise that the Cup will not be held in January 2021. We completely understand the reasons for the team withdrawals and also understand that this will be a major disappointment ...for all players, referees, coaches, support staff and parents. We would like to thank everyone involved for their support of the Cup in particularly our major sponsors Albury City, City of Wodonga and the Commercial Club Albury. Dates for Country Cup 2022 - Monday 10th Jan 2022 to Saturday 16th Jan 2022

11.01.2022 We'll be back Australian Country Junior Basketball Cup. It took a world-shifting event to stop us coming in 2021... but we'll be there in 2022!

07.01.2022 As an organisation that strives to uphold the values of equality, fairness and diversity, Basketball Victoria wishes to voice its unequivocal support for the er...adication of racism in sport and the wider community. We recognise that there is an urgent need to address the way in which Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander, African-Australian, African-American and all black communities are treated here in Australia, the United States and many other places in the world. Basketball Victoria and its leagues - NBL1, Big V, VJBL and the CBL encourage, value and celebrate the participation and contributions of players, coaches and officials from these communities. They deserve the same level of respect and opportunity as any other person in society. We will continue to work with all communities to create the most welcoming basketball environments, free from all forms of prejudice and discrimination. #BlackLivesMatter.

Be there for each other and say ...no to all forms of intolerance and exclusion in our sport and in the greater community. Today is International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia and Transphobia (IDAHOBIT) and Basketball Victoria proudly supports and promotes opportunities for everyone in the Victorian basketball community. There is always a place in basketball for you - no matter who you are, or who you love. #IDAHOBIT

03.01.2022 These are tough times, but even during the hardest moments be there for your friends. It's a unique International Day of Friendship this year with social dis...tancing, isolation and lockdowns across Victoria keeping many of us apart. Make some time to reach out your mates to tell them you're thinking about them and that you can't wait to see them soon. Nothing will mean more to a friend than showing that you care.

03.01.2022 Hi everyone Just a note to advise that had it not being for Covid-19 cancellation, today would have been the day of the 2021 Country Cup opening ceremony and first round of matches. The Cup Directors are disappointed that we had to cancel as each year many people look forward to coming to such a great event. It is particularly disappointing for those players who would have come to their first Cup and for those top age U18 players who had not been before and have now will not get that opportunity to attend and wear their State uniform. Hopefully everything will go well during the year re Covid-19 vaccine roll-out and we can resume again in 2022. In the meantime stay safe and have a great year. Cup Directors.

01.01.2022 Give this man the support that he deserves for the all the effort he has put in to the kids of the North East and for those that he has helped along the way at the ACJBC.
