24.01.2022 Garage and car fire at Eden Hills - 6 January 2021: At 10:54 this morning CFS crews were alerted to a fire in a garage at Wonoka Street, Eden Hills, by several 000 callers. Six CFS crews arrived to find a car burning in a garage adjoining a home. Crews were able to quickly extinguish the fire and restrict the damage to the garage and vehicle, stopping the fire igniting the home. ... The car was destroyed in the fire, with damages to the garage, contents of the garage and vehicle estimated to total $100,000. 23.01.2022 A prescribed burn is planned in Belair National Park on Friday 18 December 2020, weather conditions permitting. The prescribed burn will start at 1:00pm and should be complete by 6:00pm. 20.01.2022 Severe Thunderstorm Warning for DAMAGING WINDS for people in Flinders and parts of North West Pastoral and North East Pastoral districts. Severe thunderstorms are likely to produce damaging wind gusts in excess of 90 km/h in the warning area over the next several hours. Locations which may be affected include Marla, Coober Pedy, Roxby Downs, Leigh Creek, Oodnadatta and Hawker.... A wind gust of 96 km/h was reported at Roxby Downs at around 3:30 pm. The State Emergency Service advises that people should: * Secure or put away loose items around your property. * Move cars under cover or away from trees. * Keep clear of fallen power lines. * Stay indoors, away from windows, while storms are nearby. 20.01.2022 TEST WARNING MESSAGES ISSUED TODAY TO TRIAL NEW SYSTEM: Today the CFS and MFS will issue TEST MESSAGES to live-trial the introduction of new icons and colours for our warning messages. These messages are only tests please do not be alarmed if you see these messages appearing on your social media feeds, the AlertSA app or other mediums you may monitor.... Testing is planned to take place between 11:00 and 12:30 today, the warnings will be clearly labelled as tests and will not require you to take any action. The test messages will be for a grass fire in Woomera at around 11:30, and a grass fire in Mt Gambier also for 11:30 (both of these messages will be for test purposes only and not actual fires).

15.01.2022 Hay shed fire at Tothill Creek - Tuesday 1 December: At just after 9am this morning, the CFS were alerted to a fire at Tothill Creek in the state’s Mid North. Seven CFS trucks and around 35 CFS volunteers attended the fire and arrived to find a hay shed with around 2000 bales fully engulfed in flames. The CFS volunteers are currently on scene with CFS crews spreading the hay in nearby bare paddocks to extinguish. ... Estimated loss is between $500,000 and $600,000. Fire cause investigations are at the scene, with cause unconfirmed at this stage. The CFS has responded to a large number of hay stack fires this season and again wants to remind primary producers to regularly monitor the temperature of hay bales, and remove and manage any that are heating up or showing signs of steam or smoke. http://dlvr.it/Rmkr3y

Origin / Name: KEITH Hay Shed Fire at Mount Monster in the Upper South East of South Australia ISSUED FOR KEITH A hay shed is burning close to the Mount Monster Conservation Park, near Keith, in the Upper South East. Local CFS volunteers attended the incident earlier today, and it's now being monitored by the land holder. There are around 1500 bales of hay which are expected to smoulder over the coming days, producing smoke which may be visible from the Riddoch Highway and the Dukes Highway. At times smoke may drift across the Riddoch Hwy, Carew Road and Range Road which may reduce visibility. If you are driving in smoke please slow down and keep your headlights on. 10.01.2022 TOTAL FIRE BANS have been declared for Friday 27 November 2020 in the following Fire Ban Districts: West Coast - Severe Eastern Eyre Peninsula - Severe Lower Eyre Peninsula - Severe Mid North - Severe... Mount Lofty Ranges - Extreme Yorke Peninsula - Severe Lower South East - Severe Where Total Fire Bans have been declared, very hazardous fire weather conditions are predicted. The Total Fire Ban will apply for 24 hours from midnight tonight to midnight tomorrow. The CFS recommends that you implement your Bushfire Survival Plan. FIRE DANGER RATING Where fire ban districts have a forecast fire danger rating of Extreme, only well prepared, well constructed and actively defended houses are likely to offer safety during a fire. Where fire ban districts have a forecast fire danger rating of Severe, well prepared and actively defended houses can offer safety during a fire. BUSHFIRE PLAN If you don't have a plan to ensure your survival, leaving early before a fire starts is your safest option. In making your plan, you should be aware that in high fire danger conditions, essential services including mains-fed electricity and water supply may not be available due to the prevailing weather conditions. Landowners are asked to adhere to local harvest codes of practice which are available from your local council. 09.01.2022 House destroyed by fire at Crafers 17 December: At around this 1:52pm this afternoon the CFS were alerted to a house fire at Wright Road, Crafers. Eight CFS fire trucks and 35 volunteer firefighters responded and upon arrival found the fire had spread throughout the house and the roof had collapsed. The owner of the property was at home at the time and managed to escape with no injuries. ... Firefighters managed to stop the fire spreading to neighbouring properties on either side, however the house has been completely destroyed. Approximate dollar assessment of damages is $250,000. 06.01.2022 Hay shed fire at Auburn - 26 Nov 2020 At just before 10pm last night, the CFS were alerted to a fire at Auburn, in the state’s Mid North. 30 CFS volunteers from across the area attended the fire, arriving to find a hay shed fully engulfed in flames.... The CFS volunteers worked hard to extinguish the fire, but were unable to save any of the hay or a prime mover stored in the shed, causing an estimated loss of over $500,000. The firefighters will remain on the scene for quite some time to mop up and ensure the fire is completely out, ahead of today’s predicted severe fire danger weather in the Mid North. The CFS has responded to a large number of hay stack fires this season and again wants to remind primary producers to regularly monitor the temperature of hay bales, and remove and manage any that are heating up or showing signs of steam or smoke.
