12.01.2022 Ten days to completion and we revisit an earlier post where we discovered 132-year-old tessellated tiles hidden under floorboards . The veranda on th...e northern side was enclosed in 1929 (we think) and in doing so, they put floorboards over the original Windsor patterned tiles. Upon first discovering the tiles, we were stoked, what a feature!!! And then... the rest of the floorboards were removed and we found that 50% of the tiles had a thin layer of concrete on top . The team at The Exchange were onboard to save the tiles - so for this, we called in the big guns . Matthew Peterson and My Fav Builder Johnnie John Stevenson (sorry Dave!) used a combination of grinder and a soak with coke to lift the cement. And the result... lady like new. 02.01.2022 I just want to share with everyone how Happy and Thankful we are for the rain. It has been raining consistently now, this is our 4th day. We have had nice and steady rain. I wanted to show you how green our pool area is and how fast the grass has grown. It’s not a crunchy brown color anymore. I’m standing out in the rain taking these photos and I don’t care. I hope you all enjoy the photos and visit us again soon.
