25.01.2022 I know it is almost summer but we had a day last week when you could almost imagine it was snowing!! We had thousands of little white butterflies invade the park. Too fast for some but Bas caught one napping towards the end of the day. Those white butterflies had some beautiful markings. #granitebeltwinecountry #familyparks #campingqueensland #butterflies #camping #Caravanning #lovingnature
24.01.2022 It was wonderful to see the rain and to hear it on the roof again! Unfortunately, we didn't get very much in our area, I think Kim said 24ml. It has watered the gardens and laid the dust and of course - MADE THE GRASS GROW (that is Kim grumbling!!) Bas captured this lovely watery sunset. We still haven't received enough rain to overflow the weir like we had hoped. #granitebeltwinecountry #campingqueensland #caravanningqld #petfriendly #bushcamping #birds #getoutside
21.01.2022 And not a hare in sight!! #granitebeltwinecountry #bushcamping #campingqueensland #caravanning #caravanningqld #wildlife
21.01.2022 Sitting in the office this morning I noticed an unusual sight! One of our swamp hens decided to roost in a rather large bush .... Not usual I would have thought? Perhaps it is expecting an enormous amount of rain? #bushcamping# #granitebeltwinecountry #birds #rain
20.01.2022 Our Swamp Hen has decided to make the bush its' (he/she) new home! Very settled! We have had some rain which is lovely but this may be a bit of an over reaction by this little guy!! #granitebeltwinecountry #birds #campingqueensland #caravanningqld #familyparks #petfriendly
19.01.2022 It was lovely to have a large group of happy travellers visit our park on Anton's "Mystery Trip". Eight small RV's arrived to spend the Saturday night on our river bank. (I think there may have been a theme??) #travelling #rvlife #granitebeltwinecountry #campingqueensland #familyparks #bushcamping #getoutside
18.01.2022 Our mornings up here on the Granite Belt are still quite chilly even though it is November. These three little tortoises are taking time to sun themselves in the early morning sun. Not sure what the middle one does to get a great shine on his shell. He is obviously keeping this secret to himself!! #granitebeltwinecountry #tortoise #campingqueensland #familyparks #petfriendly #bushcamping #Caravanning
16.01.2022 https://granitebeltwinecountry.com.au/strawberry-season-op/ IT IS STRAWBERRY SEASON ON THE GRANITE BELT!! What a great way to spend an afternoon - picking fresh strawberries or eating strawberry icecream?? After the beautiful rain we have just received the whole area will be fresh and clean - a great Weekend Getaway - book with us now and choose a cabin or come and camp...we would love to see you. #granitebeltwinecountry
15.01.2022 Yes, we have our local pyramid - easy to find, just ask us!!
12.01.2022 Let me introduce you to our "old" Corella couple. They have decided that our park is their place for retirement. Kim feeds the birds each afternoon and we have them sitting silently in one of our big eucalypts just waiting!! They don't travel with the group that occasionally flies over and only occasionally we hear them make their noisy screech.

01.01.2022 Our story continues: I am not really sure how you can tell a male Purple swamp hen from a female Purple swamp hen? I tried looking that up but to no avail....they are quite pretty with their purple plumage and reddish feet and their little white tail end. Those feet are not made to roost in trees. But....now there are TWO!! They must know something we don't?
