25.01.2022 Human beings are hard-wired to want to know what is happening when and to notice any threats. When things feel uncertain or our safety is threatened, its normal to feel stressed. This is the fight or flight response and it is there to protect us. While this response is normal it causes havoc when there is a sense of uncertainty and conflicting information around us. The body does not respond well to long periods of uncertainty and stress.

14.01.2022 Delia is a 58 year old Senior Manager in Healthcare. She came to me after having been off work on sick leave for three days. She said she was dreading returning and believed she was suffering workplace stress. She had a very demanding job and worked on a shift roster. In the first two sessions she outlined her symptoms and opened up about her feelings. She said she was in a constant state of exhaustion and hated everything about her job. She had physical symptoms of an upset stomach and was grinding her teeth at night and had a sore jaw. At work and home she was short tempered and felt overwhelmed about everything.

What are my best 3 tips to combat prickliness with the kids and depression for sufferers? 1. Time alone doing something you love. Reading? Stretching? Walk? Play keyboard? An hour minimum please ! 2. Walk or sit with a girlfriend and just download. No small talk (you might want to warn her first!). Get stra...ight to the D&M. 3. Do something completely different for the afternoon! Purchase clay and build, don a Winter wettie on and go an ocean dip, ask a neighbor if you can walk their dog. Break down the comfort zone a little and your headspace will feel uplifted. A big problem right now is boredom and lack of stimulation. For big people & little! Keep the mind stimulated in small ways. Itll get you to the finish line of this round of lockdown. Dawn is 55 years old with 2 grown and married children. She has worked part time in the past and has dealt with depression and anxiety throughout her life....
