25.01.2022 Look what arrived?? Trailing some new merch and we think it's looking pretty fly Now to see how it performs on the horses, and importantly in the wash! What's your favourite colour combo? Silver and black, white or navy?

15.01.2022 The best part of starting to landscape the arena.... it smells just like Christmas

13.01.2022 What a magic day, after another frosty start this morning Is there anything that makes an equestrian happier than seeing fat, shiny ponies in fresh paddocks?... For me it's my most happy place, especially after the long drought of years past. The grass is so enticing, Boots thought he'd try some too!

03.01.2022 "You can't create a new reality while continuing to beat the drum of your old one..." You cannot step into the role of a confident, courageous and calm rider ...while telling everyone who stands still long enough to listen - the story of how you are 'a nervous rider' or 'riding is scary' or even that 'my horse is spooky and afraid of his own shadow'... and the million and one other things we tell ourselves and others about our riding fear.... Because everything we say about ourselves is an affirmation, whether positive or not; and by keeping on telling these old stories, we keep reinforcing the truth of them for ourselves. It's a strange conundrum of life that we have to adopt our new stories, our new persona and develop our new mantras BEFORE we can actually make the required change! And this is one of the critical hurdles we have to overcome in order to ditch our riding nerves and fear for good. It's easier to understand the truth of this when we realise that we have to start to beat the new drum before we can play the new music if we ever want to dance to a new tune... And believe me, I danced to the nervous rider tune for a long LONG time!! I wore holes in THAT dance floor! I changed my drumbeat by scratching all my old records and making sure they could never play again! And now if you choose, you can also change your drumbeat... First you need to start noticing how often you reinforce your riding fear. You might catch yourself thinking quietly that 'oh, I'm not a brave rider' or find yourself telling someone in the saddlery that you are a nervous rider... You might find yourself making limiting decisions based on your old level of confidence. E.g. not entering a competition or planning a trail ride due to fear (or fear buried under other excuses!). I want you to start consciously noticing the language you use about yourself when it comes to your riding. How can you give yourself a language upgrade? What can you start affirming today that helps you call in more confidence? That helps you adopt the new persona who learns to be the confident and calm rider that you want to be? Can you start telling yourself how your confidence is improving everyday in every way or tell your instructor that you are working on improving your confidence and building these new mental muscles in order to become a confident rider, or mentioning to a riding friend that you are working on improving your riding mindset (watch their reaction here - it will be priceless and totally worth bringing up - I promise! tehehe) Start adopting the persona and language of a confident rider. There is so much value in faking it until you make it when it comes to confidence. Try and emulate the effortless confidence and ease fearless riders have in their body around the horse. Plan to really enjoy your ride, and then when are with your horse, be ALL there so that you can fully enjoy it! Start visualizing and telling yourself how you want your ride TO GO, how you want it to FEEL, how you want it to LOOK and SOUND, and start deleting any sneaky thoughts and images of how you don't want it to go. This thought and language editing process is a powerful way to start re-programming how you think and feel in the saddle, and is a (often unconscious) secret of confident riders. Before it can become unconscious and effortless for you if you have been beating the nervous drum for a while, will take some conscious effort at first. It will take a little practice and belief to implement and it might even feel uncomfortable initially, a bit like an ill-fitting shirt that you have to grow into - but like any learned skill, it's worth persisting and practice makes perfect... Because becoming a new you will take new thinking... Happy riding, Stef
