22.01.2022 After 35 years serving Parramatta, Courtney's Brasserie will conclude trading next week. Our last restaurant service will be for lunch on Friday, 20th September. It is with many fond memories that I say thank you to all who have enjoyed our hospitality and to my staff, who have made this possible. Courtney's Catering will continue to operate, and I will be focusing my efforts on providing quality catering to my customers, old and new. Thank you to my family who have supported me through the years. We will wait to see what the future holds.

09.01.2022 Thank you to everyone who has messaged, emailed, called me personally or visited the restaurant over the last few days, passing on your well-wishes, checking if we are okay and asking questions, especially "Why?". I have unfortunately not been able to reply to everyone personally. Those who have visited the restaurant over the past year will know that a high density residential development is underway directly behind Courtney's. After considerable negotiation between myself a...nd the stakeholders, I feel that my restaurant has been seen to be of no value. Restaurants the size of Courtney's do not generate a lot of profit, but what has made it worthwhile is the quality service and joy we bring to people every day. My family and I have for many months seen this coming, however to close so suddenly has greatly affected my staff and customers. The development is of such a scale that it requires trucks, cranes and waste disposal to operate constantly in front of the Courtney's premises, and I knew that we could not survive such a disruption. I understand that this development will be of value to Parramatta in the future, however, the stakeholders expect me to be able to continue trading. I am not in the position, financially and emotionally, to weather that storm and have chosen to end on a high. Since the initial announcement, I have received messages from people who have felt a connection to Courtney's. This has affirmed that the hard work my staff and I have put in over the many years has been of value and is appreciated. This means a lot. I am remaining in Parramatta to continue the catering arm of my business. I will continue to communicate through our marketing channels to inform you of my future plans. See more
