24.01.2022 Composite decking, lawns, reticulation, paving, natural limestone walls and garden beds, planting and pruning - phew! Looks amazing though :-)

24.01.2022 The light weight pergola is detatched from the house and is designed to provide partial shade and privacy (in conjunction with the client's grapevine) to the newly created seating area just outside the master bedroom. The decor screen also incorporates merbau posts - all of the posts are recessed into a galvanized steel sleeve and can be removed or replaced easily. The original design included a series of raised timber garden beds to maintain the same theme in each aspect of hardscaping.

24.01.2022 Reticulation can be one of those tasks that takes a little while to investigate - it's often much more efficient to install a new system that we can guarantee is going to work properly.

22.01.2022 The brief was to take an old, overgrown courtyard and transform it into a modern, open space for entertaining a few friends.

22.01.2022 Two big dogs and a courtyard... the brief was to make it dog friendly, dog proof and still create a beautiful space for enjoying and adding visual appeal when looking out through the window. It also needed to look equally appealing from the road. We decided on a strong timber fence with large spaces between the palings to maximize the sense of space. The top of the fence has been fitted with a bar for entertaining - tables and chairs can be easily moved into the garage with drinks on the fence. Given the beach theme of the home we used a peppermint tree log as our plant stand to really give that feeling of being on the coast. More pics to come so keep watching this space...

21.01.2022 Situated on the corner of a busy road in the heart of Perth, our client wanted something smart and classy to maximize the effect for the location.

21.01.2022 Hi all, just wanted to let you know that we will be off next week (starting Monday 13th) for some R&R on doctor's orders. Lol we've been working way too hard for way too long apparently without a break. Many apologies and we look forward to hearing from you on the 20th

21.01.2022 To take the hurriedly prepared for market garden of an ex rental and transform it into a green, soothing environment for the new owner (and the fur kids) to enjoy.

20.01.2022 Once we inspected the ends of the beams we found that they were rotted to a depth of approx . 6 inches. Every end was re-cut, each beam was cleaned up, new fascia beams were installed and everything was put back up before two coats of paint and new shade-cloth went on. Jarrah is heavy!!

18.01.2022 The brief was to lower the shed just below ground height so that it would recess in under the roof eaves. A concrete slab, with a recessed edge for the side walls, was installed to achieve this and ensure great drainage. Very happy client with a bone dry shed floor.

18.01.2022 Grow your own vegetables and enjoy fish (and yabbies in this particular case) all in one. The herb and vegetable garden beds provide the filtration for the water, while the fish provide enough nutrients to realize up to four times the yield of in-ground crops. The bell syphon system enables an even, complete, cyclical flush of the garden bed, preventing the root rot often associated with trickle-flow systems.

18.01.2022 That's one really, really long retaining wall!!!

18.01.2022 A second short edit of our paving class with St Stephens at Bunnings Joondalup (this time with a non copyrighted soundtrack). Hope we managed to get everyone! The team are off to South Africa to help build villages and assist with other construction projects. It was our job to get them up to speed with the wonders of paving ;-)

15.01.2022 The brief was to fill the garden beds with a range of plants that would provide depth, screening and a range of colour throughout the year. Five cubic metres of soil and two cubic metres of mulch were also added to provide a great growing medium for the new plants. The existing trees were pruned heavily to create a canopy for the 'jungle' sections of the garden, where vibrant foliage takes center stage. Big thanks to the clients on this one for their wonderful hospitality! That fence is going to completely disappear!!

15.01.2022 Pouring concrete slabs in a confined space can be a little challenging but well worth the effort for a dry, level shed - very happy with the recessed edges.

13.01.2022 For the disabled residents to access the the garage more easily (they loved to cut across the garden bed).

13.01.2022 Though larger than our usual courtyard space, this property's garden was actually divided into 5 smaller spaces. The tiny picket fence was the most challenging aspect.

12.01.2022 The builder couldn't get the gate to hang or fit properly so we were called in to fit a new gate correctly.

12.01.2022 The brief was to create a lush, tropical feature for the large patio area. It's going to look stunning in six months. All the plants have been selected to create a sense of depth through differences in height (with a max height just touching the roof) and when grown will completely hide the fence. The old sandy soil was removed and replaced with good quality earth - essential for a thriving garden.

11.01.2022 Reticulation, lawn and paving installation.

10.01.2022 We get so much attention with our trailer so here are a few photos of it set up in camping mode at Yanchep National Park. Yes it does have hot water and heating, as well as being fully insulated to the same level as your home (if not more so). Water proof and warm, perfect.

09.01.2022 A quick look at the courtyard aquaponics system that we have running in front of a large window. The plants provide the only filtration for the fish and the fish provide the only nutrients for the plants, which works pretty well judging by the two tomato plants. Just so you know, the boring bit with the water turning on and off at the bell syphon is included just so that you can see how it is supposed to operate correctly - if you have ever tried to build and tune one in you'll know what an achievement it is to get these to work well the first time.

09.01.2022 The same garden after two month's growth.

07.01.2022 We didn't put the pool in but we made it pretty! We also fixed the reticulation and installed three soakwells.

04.01.2022 Paving and artificial grass throughout the backyard. Raised garden beds, decorative screens and a light weight merbau pergola were also added and are shown in a separate album.

02.01.2022 A bespoke pond with glass fronting so you can watch the activity underneath the water. The plumbing is located underneath the slab, with inbuilt half flush and full flush pipes that feed directly into the garden bed, away from the pond. Similarly the inflow and outflow for the filter and pump are plumbed into the concrete. The waterfall and pond each have a separate flow control valve for fine tuning water volume for weather conditions and the sound of the waterfall.

02.01.2022 Take an old, tired backyard, render everything and apply two coats of paint. Looks a million miles better.
