25.01.2022 We would like to wish all of our members and the BMX community a very Happy New Year. We are looking forward to an exciting 2021 and we can’t wait to see all our kids back racing their bikes at the track.

24.01.2022 Who’s keen for racing this Saturday?

24.01.2022 The Cove BMX Club is a volunteer run member-based organisation that holds regular events. Some common definitions of the key words from the above statement.. CLUBan organization constituted to play in a particular sport... VOLUNTEERa person who works for an organization without being paid MEMBERa person belonging to a particular group or organisation EVENTa thing that happens or takes place, especially one of importance Consider the importance of each of these words together and what happens to them if you take just one of the words away. There is one word in that list that is regularly all too scarce, Volunteer, but you can make all the difference and ensure the strength of all the other words. Please offer to help your club just as often as you can.

23.01.2022 We tried something a little different last night for Round 2 of the Cannon Championships. To help ease the burden of 1 person running the canteen for every race meet, we decided that each committee member would take their turn and have a go. Paul was first up and he really turned it on. People were lining up for his Pulled Pork Burgers and Chicken Gravy Rolls. Thanks Paul, Nick and everyone who helped out last night and thanks to everyone that came out and enjoyed the last race for summer.

23.01.2022 How good are our new jerseys? Arrived just in the nick of time for State Championships. If you’re not here in Mount Gambier they will be available for collection next week from the canteen. Big thanks to 299 Custom for making us look so good.

23.01.2022 This Saturday will be our final race meet for 2020. It will also be the presentation of all awards and trophies for the 2020 Cove Cannons Championship Series, so make sure you don't miss this one.

22.01.2022 What a great start to the 2020 BMX SA State Championships. Thanks to all our members for coming along and supporting those who raced today. We even had a socially distanced March past. How 2020 is that?

22.01.2022 Right back it again! Racing this Saturday from 2:30pm! See you there!

21.01.2022 Big thanks to everyone that ordered a jersey, these have now gone into production. We still have all the other club merchandise available to order up until December the 1st for a pre Xmas delivery so get your riders in and show the world what club you are a part of! www.thecovebmxclub.com.au

The new direction provides an update to density requirements, and has implemented the use of the COVID-SAfe Check in system, through the MYGOVSA app. ... New DENSITY REQUIREMENTS for an Outdoor Place is 1 person per 2sqm People must use their best endeavours to implement physical distancing and remain 1.5m from people they do not know. We will update further in regards to potential racing this Saturday.

20.01.2022 Unfortunately overnight we had a break in. We had some helmets and one of our loan bikes stolen. The bike is reasonably recognisable it’s a blue Redline Proline in size Pro XL. It has matching blue handle bars. If you see it around or see it for sale around the place please let the club know.

20.01.2022 Our next run of jersey orders closes at 9am tomorrow morning! So make sure you don’t miss out and place your order now. www.thecovebmxclub.com.au

19.01.2022 With the last few months of events around the track coming up, we are wanting to change the way regular tasks are done. If you can commit to a small amount of time every couple weeks it would make a huge difference and reduce the amount of traditional working bees required. If you’re interested in helping out and making a difference to your club please comment below or please message our Track and Facilities Manager Sam Cattonar.

19.01.2022 Reminder there is no racing at The Cove this weekend due to the State Series event and Club run Pre Event at Copper Coast BMX Club this weekend. Get out there and support their event. We do have racing the following 2 weekends so get ready for an exciting end to the season. Have you checked your current 2020 Cannon Championship ranking?

17.01.2022 Sorry everyone we have made the difficult decision to cancel training tonight. The wind is just too strong and gusty. Hopefully it all clears up and we can have a nice race day on Saturday!

16.01.2022 What a great post by one of our amazing sponsors! We wouldn’t survive without our sponsors and they wouldn’t survive without your support. So please whenever possible any local small business would really appreciate your support.

15.01.2022 See you at the track for training tonight and tomorrow. Then get ready for another big one with State Series Round 2 at Cross Keys BMX Club.

15.01.2022 Results are in! We went off with a BANG! Thanks to all The Cove Cannons that raced their hardest. There were thrills and spills, what a great weekend. Fantastic to see everyone’s hard work paying off!

14.01.2022 So far in just under 2 months of the new AusCycling regime some of our members have taken full advantage of the new licence system and been racing road bikes around the local racing circuits. Congratulations on their efforts to Lucas Zetter, Bodhi Cattonar, Maya Wellman and Max Freeman. We’ve also had some of our older members out racing too, Tom Freeman and our super coaches Sam Cattonar and Michael Wellman. It’s been really interesting seeing how Norwood Cycling Club and AusCycling - South Australia run their events and we can’t wait to see what 2021 has in store with us all being part of the more unified cycling management here in South Australia.

14.01.2022 Don’t worry about dinner tonight, Paul and the boys in the canteen have got it all under control tonight!

09.01.2022 On Saturday ground was finally broken on the new SW BMX Facility (Sam Willoughby). This has been a long time in the works and we are very excited to finally see some physical work starting to take place. The dirt turning ceremony took place on Saturday with council members, VIPs and of course the 2 local BMX Clubs in attendance. Thanks to everyone involved so far that has helped this dream become a reality. 2022 looks to be quite an exciting year.

08.01.2022 Huge thanks to everyone that came out and risked the weather for an afternoon of BMX Racing. We had some testing conditions that didn’t quite come out in our favour. It was great to see so many families out willing to brave the elements. As usual thank you to the volunteers that made it all possible, you guys suffered in the weather more than anyone, so thank you! It was especially awesome to see some different faces volunteering! See you all again next week!

08.01.2022 While there is no racing at The Cove this long weekend there is racing on offer! Why not head to Kadina and check out racing on the other side of town!

04.01.2022 BMX SA HutSix 2020 State Championships is almost upon us and for those doing this for the first time and even the seasoned BMX veterans there is lots of information starting to come out to help you have the most enjoyable time whilst in Mount Gambier. Make sure you are connected with South Australia BMX on Facebook, they have released an abundance of info today and web links to keep you up to date with all schedules, processes and the SA Health requirements for Covid tracing... at the event. Each club including The Cove will have allocated tent spaces for their members to share, the club will be taking their 2 club printed tents but we still need 2 more to fill the allocation, if you can provide a marquee at Blue Lake please let us know. It is likely that with restrictions at the borders the event will not have the same level of pro shop parts support that we would typically enjoy at major events so make sure you visit our club sponsors at Tailwind Cycles for all your last minute spares, tools & gear to help cover you in a trackside emergency, before you leave Adelaide. Have a great time away, be kind, be patient and just like at home don’t be afraid to ask how can I help. Officials and volunteers are still being sought by BMXSA. See more

03.01.2022 Just before Christmas we held our annual awards night and Christmas celebration. We had an amazing turnout, full of new and old families socialising together and celebrating a difficult but amazing year at our club. It was a great to see so many people enjoying themselves and enjoying the club spirit that we have worked so hard to create. The event was a complete success and would not have been possible without the incredible planning and forethought of our 2020 secretary,... Malcolm Lawrence. Thanks Malcolm for giving us a Covid Safe event where we could celebrate our achievements this year. We want to congratulate all our award recipients and our 2020 Cove Cannons Championship place getters. This was the first time an SA club has offered a year long series and we were very happy with how it ended up, even with the restrictions placed on community sport in 2020. Finally thanks to everyone who came out and participated in our races this year, we are looking forward to an even more exciting 2021.
